Cavalon is the equivalent of the Kurzick town, House zu Heltzer. Even if the territory line shifts into deep Luxon territory, Cavalon will never fall under the control of the Kurzicks. This town offers all the services that a regular town does, and also has a special area for the alliance that controls the town, containing a Fireworks Master and a Merchant that offers items at a reduced price.

The aim of the Altrumm Ruins challenge mission is to collect as much Amber as you can in ten minutes. Upon completion of the mission, you will be rewarded with gold, experience and Kurzick faction, depending on how much Amber you collected.

Master Togo is the master of the Shing Jea Monastery, and is the half-brother of Emperor Kisu. Togo accompanies players throughout the game, aiding in many quests and missions. At the final part of the Imperial Sanctum mission, Togo bravely sacrifices himself for the Emperor.

Typically, this large town is one of the most populated towns in the entire "Factions" campaign, usually running with numerous districts (up to 50 during certain holiday events). It is also the home of the Canthan New Year festival. In the center of the Monastery, players can converse and trade in a large, open courtyard as well as form small four-person parties to perform their first explorations of the Canthan continent. Shing Jea Monastery houses numerous NPCs and "Factions" exclusive quests for new players to the game. Players will choose both their primary and secondary professions before leaving this first half of the island.

Mount Qinkai is a popular area to speed clear, in order to gain Luxon faction. An efficient team can clear the area in six minutes. Archipelagos contains a number of bosses with some good Elite Skills, so capturing these skills may help in the long run.

The Arborstone mission is the first Kurzick mission players will head through, along with Boreas Seabed on the Luxon side. If you decide to head through the game via the Kurzick side, you will find yourself playing through The Eternal Grove mission. The Unwaking Waters mission is similar to the Vizunah Square mission, in that there are two entry locations, allowing for a 16-player party. The Kurzick entry point marks the third cooperative mission location.

The Jade Brotherhood rule Xaquang Skyway, and the Am Fah inhabit The Undercity. A journey through the sewers will result in encounters with unsavoury foes, and even more unsavoury fluids. Best bring a peg if you head through here.

Finishing the Minister Cho's Estate mission will unlock the Ran Musu Gardens outpost, from which Kinya Province can be accessed. Also, players seeking out profession trainers may find them in Kinya Province, and as such travel through Sunqua Vale to get there. Sunqua Vale is located roughly in the middle, and to the east of Kinya Province. This area can also be accessed from the south, via Panjiang Peninsula, which, in turn, is accessed from Tsumei Village.

Due to the fact that newer players (beginning in the "Factions" campaign) will start from the Monastery, they will soon be able to proceed to the west end of the island. In fact, the first few quests of the game require that you cross the area in some way, whether it be to Minister Cho's Estate to the north, or more explorable areas to the far west. The area give you your first glimpse of the Naga, reptilian warriors forced out of their Jade Sea as well as Mantids and Yetis, which feature more throughout the island. After finishing in the Monastery Overlook, speak to a profession trainer and meet them out in Sunqua Vale for basic training. When this training is complete, you will also be able to commence secondary training by speaking with NPCs in the Monastery.

Two teams, one Kurzick and one Luxon, battle to take control of three quarries that supply Jade Slabs. Slabs are transported from the quarry to the base by Hauler Turtles, and Kurzicks have Juggernauts to carry the slabs. A time limit of fifteen minutes is imposed on the mission. If either team does not accumulate ten Jade Slabs by the time the fifteen minutes is up, then the team with the most slabs will be declared the winning team.

Wardens of the Summer are Ritualists, who provide healing for their fellow Wardens. Wardens of the Spring and Wardens of Seasons are also Ritualists, and it is not uncommon to find a group containing at least two of these.

At the beginning of the mission, you are to select two allies that will accompany you through the mission, and will allow you to skip certain sections. Each of the eight bosses in this mission can be found in the Raisu Palace explorable area, which becomes accessible after completing the mission.

Distorted and grotesque versions of former humans, the Afflicted are the plague of Cantha, brought about by the evil of Shiro. Anything passing too close to Shiro - animals, humans, plants - will be augmented and made into an Afflicted creature.

Shing Jea Arena is situated on a small island to the south of Shing Jea Island. To access this early arena, players will need to speak to Bauyun in the Monastery to be instantly taken across the sea. As long as the player is under level 11, they will be able to enter the arena for battle, but if that player is level 11 or higher, they will only be able to enter that outpost, which is usually nice to have explored for the Grandmaster Cartographer title. Like many other areas of Shing Jea, the arena contains miasma, which will slowly degenerate health if a player is under its effect. The arena only accommodates deathmatch games (fight-til-the-death) for parties of four players.

Answer: Leviathan Pits

Elite Luxon armour is the elite version of the standard Luxon armour, and hence is most intricately detailed and expensive. Every piece of Luxon armour requires Jadeite Shards (in the same way that Kurzick armour requires Amber Chunks), which can cost a lot of money.

Minister Cho, the minister of Cultural Affairs of the Canthan empire, has also been infected by the plague that besets Cantha, and when players meet him at the end of the mission, he mutates and becomes the Diseased Minister, a Level 11 Necromancer. Master Togo is good friends with Cho.

Answer: Crimson Skull

The Crimson Skull can be found across Shing Jea Island in various different locations. Although they may be low-leveled, their stronghold in the south-west corner of the island can be a formidable barrier if you're just beginning the game. To reach Panjiang Peninsula, players must reach Tsumei Village by crossing Sunqua Vale and exiting through the south exit. Panjiang is home to large caves, waterfalls, and a scenic coastline willed with exotic enemies. As well, players will often visit this area in order to complete training tutorials. This large area will be home to many Canthan farmers using the land near Tsumei Village. As soon as players pass this area though, they will encounter Naga, Kappas, Oni, and the guild of the Crimson Skull.

Ferndale is unique, in that it is not connected to any explorable areas. Instead, four separate staging areas can be accessed. Leaving from House zu Heltzer, you can visit the Kurzick side of Aspenwood Gate to the north-east for access to the Fort Aspenwood competitive mission, the Lutgardis Conservatory to the south-east if you have business in Melandru's Hope, or Saint Anjeka's Shrine to the south-west for access to Drazach Thicket, which is popular for gaining Kurzick faction through vanquishing.

Answer: The Undercity

Vizunah Square is one of two missions in "Factions" that has two entry points. Canthan characters will find that the quest Mayhem in the Market will lead them to the Local Quarter through The Undercity, whereas foreign characters will take Welcome to Cantha, and enter the Foreign Quarter via Bukdek Byway. The only way for a foreign character to access the Local Quarter is to team up with a player that is doing Mayhem in the Market.

Jaya Bluffs is covered in a blanket of white snow, and many Sensali patrol the area, hungry for weak, weary travelers. This is a popular spot for feather farming, particularly with Elementalists, who are able to easily dispatch a number of Sensali for the Feathers and Feathered Crest drops.

Until players reach Seitung Harbor, they will have to contend with the four-player parties. Consequently, this is somewhat of a downer for Hard Mode, which requires players to fight large groups of difficult enemies. Minister Cho's Estate can be reached by taking the north exit out of Sunqua Vale. To enter it though, players must have their secondary profession. In order to complete this mission, players must travel around Minister Cho's Estate, taking their first glimpse at 'The Afflicted', a group of diseased enemies which cover all of Cantha. Defeating these, and protecting both Yijo Tahn and Master Togo are your goals as you cross the lush grounds to reach Minister Cho/ However, upon reaching the objective, the minister will be diseased and they will need to be defeated as well. Completing this in less than 20 minutes will result in a Master's rating. Upon completion, players will recommence from Ran Musu Gardens.

The 'Halcyon' is a Leviathan, a giant ship, that can travel through the Jade Sea via magic. A short walk north of Zos Shivros Channel, you can find the crew of the 'Halcyon', who are based on characters from the film "Serenity" and the "Firefly" television series.

Answer: Tanglewood Copse

According to the in-game description, the first emperor of Cantha stopped at Tanglewood Copse to camp for the night during his visit to the Echovald Forest. Since then, pilgrims have frequented this site as a place of ancestral worship. To humble players, it serves as a pit-stop to sell up and stock up before heading onwards, deeper into the Forest.

Upon completing the Imperial Sanctum mission, you will be taken to the Divine Path, where you can receive an Amulet of the Mists, and also craft weapons and armour. Elite Canthan, Elite Imperial and Elite Exotic armour can be crafted here, as well as weapons with +5 Energy mods on them.

Answer: Jaya Bluffs

Jaya Bluffs is one of the few snow-capped regions of Cantha, and because of this, the area is home to Snow Tigers, which can be used as pets, and Yetis, which are strictly enemies. Jaya Bluffs is the first explorable area to accommodate six players within the party. A small monastery, Sizhou Hall, is due north from Seitung's entrance. Players must travel through this explorable area on the way to the second mission of the campaign. The mission 'Looking For Trouble', on the main quest, visits this explorable area and further progresses the invasion of the Afflicted. Regardless, parties must make their way to the east end of this area to reach Haiju Lagoon, one of the final areas of the island yet to be visited.

Maishang Hills can be exited in four places. Bai Paasu Reach to the northwest, and Eredon Terrace to the northeast, are the two outposts that are connected to this area. The Gyala Hatchery mission location is situated to the southeast, and the portal to Archipelagos is to the southwest.

The aim of the mission is to protect the Forever Trees of the Echovald Forest by making sure the Tree Singers stay alive. Raiding Luxons will approach from three directions, occasionally with a Siege Turtle that will target Tree Singers. Once the waves of Luxons are defeated, they will become allied with the Kurzicks when the Afflicted threat arrives. The mission is complete when the two Afflicted bosses and their associated groups have been defeated. This mission is the Kurzick counterpart of the Luxon Gyala Hatchery mission.

Players must fight off waves of Afflicted creatures in the "To the Rescue" quest, which takes place in Linkei Township. Su, Sister Tai, Kai Ying and Professor Gai assist players in the fight against the Afflicted. The foes are quite formidable, so it is best to concentrate attacks and keep an eye on the map for any creatures trying to sneak around the back of your party.

Answer: The Captured Son & Captured Son & Cap Son

Possibly one of the more popular quests to be found on Shing Jea Island, 'The Captured Son' is exclusive to "Factions" specific characters as it results in a rather nice amount of experience and gold. The quest begins in Seitung Harbor and it is given to you by Lady Mukei Musagi who is searching for her son. This is where it gets tricky. A large camp of Crimson Skull members is situated at Hanzing Pier in Haiju Lagoon, and Jatori is on the water in front of it. As well, many groups of Naga patrol the area. Rather than complete this quest, many opt to purchase the quest requirement, a letter, from other players to reap the benefits much quicker. The quest isn't a requirement to progress through the main storyline.
