To reach the boss, we need to find clues to the password that will open the door to him. When we correctly input 'PEARLS' as the password, we fight him and his eight tentacles. King Calimari will often use its tentacles to take a party member out of battle and instill fear into them.

The Lazy Shells are the most powerful weapon and armour in the game. Although we can only get one of each, we can mix and match them on any of our players. To get it, we need fertilizer (found in Nimbus Land) and a seed (found in Bean Valley). Eventually, a path will open up in the north end of Rose Town, we can hand them over to a man inside the house, and a beanstalk will grow into the clouds where we can find these elusive items.

Toad is the first supporting character that you actually meet in the game. In the very beginning, he will arrive to pick up Princess Toadstool, but of course, Bowser takes her and everyone is thrown across the lands by the evil Exor. Toad will lead the way to Mushroom Kingdom and we can help him out for a few beneficial items along the way. At the end of Mushroom Way, Toad will be held hostage by the Hammer Bros. and when they are defeated, Toad will give you their hammer. Toad will remain in Mushroom Kingdom through the rest of the game, but he will venture into the Factory to give Mario and the party a helping hand at the very end.

Garro has been a famous sculptor in Nimbus Land and he used to make many sculptures of King Nimbus, but when you arrive, he's only making sculptures of the new queen, Valentina. When Mallow stands next to a statue of the king, Garro realizes that Mallow is the long-lost Nimbus Land Prince. Mallow decides to save his parents, so Garro thinks of a plan where he makes Mario look like a statue. He takes him to the palace with a statue of Valentina, and before he can leave, Valentina spots it. He makes up a phony story and soon, Valentina is calling Mario a 'work of art'.

Land's End is a lot like Booster Pass landscape-wise. There's a lot of rocky areas that you will need to climb. In this area, the enemies are like ones you've seen previously only they're stronger and have more attacks. For instance, Chewy is a lot like the Piranha Plants from Pipe Vault, and Chows are almost like the K-9s from Bandit's Way. How can you tell them apart? They're usually coloured differently from the others. During battle, Geckits will attack themselves and each other if they're confused. Although they won't do much damage, it might help a bit during battle.

When you head towards the Moleville Mines, Bowser will be leading his remaining six troops (three Goombas and three Magikoopas). After a brief scene, you'll need to head into the mines in order to save two moles who have been trapped; Dyna and Mite. Jump onto the shoulders of the two moles in the mines and climb into the caves. Once you're in, follow the paths and jump on the trampoline. When you do this, you'll hit the ceiling and be knocked out.

Jump only uses three FP (Flower Points), so it's the most efficient attack that deals quite a bit of damage. Early in the game, this attack is quite handy, but later on, you'll get moves like Fire Orb, Super Jump, and Ultra Jump. Mario also uses a hammer, but it's an equippable item first found on Mushroom Way. Like usual, you can also get upgrades for your equippable items. The Hammer also comes in Super Hammer, Ultra Hammer, and Masher versions.

In the beginning of the game, Bowser flies to Mario's Pad and captures Princess Toadstool who was sitting quietly on a mushroom (or toadstool). Mario went to rescue her from Bowser's Castle. When you enter, you have the option of fighting Bowser's only line of defense, the Terrapins. Terrapins are Koopa-like guards which can be defeated in only one attack. Despite the fact that Mario can't use Timed Hits yet, this portion is extremely easy, and you don't really get any experience from them, so it may be best to avoid them entirely. You are forced to fight a few of these enemies, but it's nothing you can't handle.

Neosquid has 800 HP and is the last one of Exor's body parts you should defeat before attacking Exor. Once you defeat Exor, it opens wide and sucks you into Smithy's factory.

Belome will eat Mallow in the first fight, causing it to be a one on one. In the second one, he will eat anyone and make clones of them. You should probably make sure that you don't have Bowser or Geno in your party, because Bowser will use a lot of powerful physical attacks, and Geno will use specials, such as Flame Stone.
