The dog is the main reason the boy was trapped into Evermore, because it chased a cat down into the building with that machine which transported them there. The dog is neccessary to complete the game, though (ex. pyramid).

"Secret of Evermore" was developed by Square USA, published by Squaresoft, and released on September 18, 1995. The game was also translated into French, German, and Spanish.

3. Who is the villian in the game?

Carlton is the unknown villian for most of the game as you only see him at the beginning and find out about his evil scheme towards the end. Aegis is fought in Nobilia, Tiny underneath the Pyramid (not fought directly) and Mongolia is fought in Ivor Tower.

The main character and the dog do not have the typical evil clones like Fire Eyes, Horace and Camilla but you fight the boys clone in the Dark Woods. Both the dog and the boys clone are fought at the final battle.

Both the main character and an NPC named Fire Eyes are from the town of Podunk. Podunk was the site of a failed experiment 30 years before the protagonist stumbled upon the abandoned building.

You can gain the Moxa Stick from the Nobilia marketplace for 2 chickens, 1 jeweled scarab and 12 spice. The Moxa Stick can also be traded for the Gloves of Ra (although they can be found for free in the coliseum).

The Dog Biscuit revives the dog, but only gives him 100 HP. Wings transport you back out of a cave/forest/temple and Essence cures all negative states. Honey is the item which restores most of your HP. You can increase its power by having the Moxa Stick, which multiplies the effect x1.25 (EVERY healing item and spell), so you get 375 HP.
