Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cry Slur

Answer: Chrysler

Chrysler is an American automobile manufacturing firm located in Michigan. The vehicles after which it is named, still in production in 2015, include the 200, 300, Town & Country, Ypsilon, Delta and Grand Voyager. Previous models, of which there are more than sixty, include such luxury vehicles as the Concorde, Executive, Royal and Fifth Avenue. (Hmm, it strikes me that interesting information on automobile manufacturers is going to be hard to find.)
2. Tea Hoe Tar

Answer: Toyota

Toyota is a Japanese automobile manufacturing company which commenced operations in 1937. 2014 saw it ranked, revenue wise, as the twelfth largest company in the world, employing some 333,000 people all over the globe. (Yep, it's going to be about as interesting as a set of dentures.)
3. Hand Err

Answer: Honda

Honda is a Japanese automobile manufacturing company that commenced operations in 1946. It had started some ten years earlier in 1937 as a piston manufacturing plant only, but following the Second World War, it branched out into making motorcycles initially before, from the early 1960s, moving onto automobile manufacturing.

In 2012, as an example of their production capacity, this firm which has diversified into other industries as well, sold over 4,000,000 cars alone. (Oh, this is so painful!)
4. Hi End Die

Answer: Hyundai

Hyundai is a South Korean vehicle manufacturing organisation founded in 1947. By 2014, it also had business interests in the areas of heavy industry, finance, insurance, the construction and retail businesses, defence, steel manufacturing and aerospace. By 1973 it had branched out into shipbuilding as well.

This company donates an impressive yearly amount of funding towards the maintenance of seven hospitals, research into Korean culture, and Eastern ethics. (I need a cup of coffee, even though I don't drink it, to keep me awake.)
5. Wren Know

Answer: Renault

Renault has been around since 1899 when it was funded by three brothers in France. Photographs of the first car manufactured look a little like a souped up electric wheelchair. The manufacturers of these beautiful luxury vehicles now have business interests in 118 countries, and by 2013 the organisation had assets valued at some 23.21 billion. (Yes, little Johnny, cars go "Brrmmm, brrmmm".)
6. Forks Wee Gone

Answer: Volkswagen

Volkswagen is a German automobile manufacturing plant that was established in 1937 at a time in that country's history when only one in fifty people could afford a car. The meaning of the term is "People's car" and its price reflected that. Not today though, as it's just as expensive as any other car on the road.

The difference perhaps is its usually superior reliability. The Volkswagen's unique original shape made it look a little like a beetle, and that became a popular name for this vehicle. I knew a man who had his leg in a long plaster once.

He climbed in the back with his girlfriend at the drive in theatre - and got stuck there with his leg out the front window. (Oh look, there's a fly crawling up the wall.)
7. Sue Sook Key

Answer: Suzuki

Suzuki is a multinational Japanese vehicle manufacturing organisation which makes everything from beautiful little cars and all terrain vehicles to wheelchairs. It was founded in 1909, but by 2015 is actually owned by the Volkswagen organisation. I had a lovely little red Suzuki once. Her name was Tosca. I called her after one of my favourite operas. (Yawnnn)
8. Dame Leer

Answer: Daimler

Daimler is a British car company, so you can always expect good quality there. It was founded in 1896. Since 1960, it has been owned by Jaguar, but that company has retained the Daimler name in the car's manufacture. These are glorious looking vehicles. Wouldn't you just love to own one? ("There is nothing like a dame, nothing in the worlllllddddd, there is nothing you can name that is anything like a dame...ler"!)
9. Met Shoe Bee She

Answer: Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi is another Japanese multinational company. Their work ethic is amazing, isn't it? It was founded way back in 1870 initially as a shipping firm, with a huge interest in a vast number of enterprises. However, it would take another 100 years, until 1970, before it took on motor vehicle manufacturing as well, under the name Mitsubishi Motors. By 2012, it was employing almost 31,000 people in this arm of its business alone. (I must add some Vegemite to the shopping list.)
10. Massed Are

Answer: Mazda

Once again, it is Japan that gave the world a new breed of car in the Mazda. This company was founded in 1920, with its headquarters in Hiroshima. Oh-oh. For some thirty years between 1979-2010, it worked in partnership with the Ford Motoring Company, but today Ford only owns 2% of the business. The rest is owned by several Japanese banking organisations. (ZZzzz)
