Question 1 of 10
1. If you have played any or all of the earlier quizzes in this series, you have the idea. I hope I am getting the hang of writing clues that are unambiguous, but, given some thought, amenable to solution. The words need be recognized English words, alone or in strict combinations of the abbreviations. Words contained in longer words (HIgh or GAINful, e.g.) are interesting, but not allowed.
The answers are not case-sensitive, but I think capitals look better. We're getting low on two-letter words.
First clue for Quiz #4: The answer is contained in this sentence.

Answer: (One Word, two letters.)
Question 2 of 10
2. The chemical symbols for the elements are given in dictionaries as words (Ar is argon, e.g). The next word is the symbol for manganese. The reason I'm using it will be explained in the answer. For non-chemists, a quick look at the Periodic Table or other reference is OK (Oklahoma).

Answer: (One word, two letters)
Question 3 of 10
3. A long song, sung solo

Answer: (One Word, four letters)

Answer: MN

In developing these quizzes, I have discovered that the abbreviations for some states resist being made into words; MN (for Minnesota) is one of them; that is, I have not found a four, six, eight or ten letter word where it works. The others are AZ, MD, MT, NH, NM, NV, SD, TN, TX, VT and WV. If you find a word or words that fit the rules, let me know and I will put them in a future quiz, acknowledging your contribution.
