Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Example: Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "ES" to get young felines. The answer would be KITT(E)N(S). Now it's your turn! Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "MAE" to get a word meaning to copy or mimic.

Answer: IMITATE

To I(M)IT(A)T(E) is the activity of copying something which does not necessarily have to be physical - you can imitate a manner of speech, a look or a gesture. The word is often used particularly to denote a lesser attempt, one that does not come close to the original in quality.
2. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "SA" to get a moment or jiffy.

Answer: INSTANT

An IN(S)T(A)NT is the shortest possible amount of time. It describes a moment where an event occurs that does not have a perceptible duration.
3. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "DSG" to get something that is 20/20.

Answer: HINDSIGHT

According to the common (and overused) idiom, HIN(DS)I(G)HT is 20/20, meaning that once you know the actual outcome of an action, it is very easy to determine how and why it came to be. This is in direct contrast to the difficulty of predicting the outcome before taking the action.
4. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "ACRS" to get a Biblical adversary.

Answer: ANTICHRIST

The (A)NTI(C)H(R)I(S)T is a term most would associate with the Book of Revelation, referring to either the Beast or the False Prophet, but actually, the only actual use of the term in the Bible occurs in the Epistles of John.
5. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "RY" to get a concept related to Christian divinity.

Answer: TRINITY

The holy T(R)INIT(Y) of Christian theology consists of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but the term has also been used for other purposes, such as the holy trinity of Cajun cuisine (onions, celery and bell peppers) or as a synonym for the Big Three colleges: Harvard, Yale and Princeton.
6. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "AB" to get a word meaning to dwell or live at.

Answer: INHABIT

The word INH(AB)IT is somewhat unusual among the many words describing residence in that it takes a direct object without a preposition. You say "I live in the city" but "She inhabits a penthouse".
7. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "EQUY" to get a state of unfairness.

Answer: INEQUITY

IN(EQU)IT(Y) describes a usually systematic state of unfairness, for example based on gender or racial bias. Removing inequities often requires political action more than changes on the individual case level.
8. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "BLO" to get a personality test (generic name).

Answer: INKBLOT

The INK(BLO)T test was developed by Hermann Rorschach, a Swiss psychologist, in the 1920s. It asks subjects to describe what they see in symmetrical inkblot prints and then the answers are scored based on various criteria - not only what the subject saw, but for example also what features of the inkblot it used in its interpretation.
9. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "RE" to get a bauble or curio.

Answer: TRINKET

A T(R)INK(E)T can mean a small item of little if any actual value, but it also refers to an item of jewelry, often a ring or earring, that draws a lot of attention in spite of a small size.
10. Add some T, H, I, N and/or K to "RALO" to get an endurance sport.

Answer: TRIATHLON

T(R)I(A)TH(LO)N is an endurance sport consisting of swimming, cycling and running in this order. It is run over various distances from sprint (typically around 400 meter swimming, 20 kilometer cycling and a 5k run) to Ironman (4.3 km open water swim, 180 km cycling race and a marathon).
