Eric Bana first appeared as a TV comedian in the sketch comedy series 'Full Frontal' before becoming a dramatic actor in the true story "Chopper" (2000). After gaining Hollywood's attention in lead roles as Bruce Banner in the Ang Lee directed film 'Hulk' (2003), and as Prince Hector in "Troy" (2004), he went on to play the lead in Steven Spielberg's "Munich" (2005) and the villain Nero in the science-fiction film "Star Trek" (2009). But he was best when he was a funny guy!

Born in Toronto, Canada in 1955, Howie is well known for his role as Dr. Wayne Fiscus on the NBC drama "St. Elsewhere" and as the host of the popular game show "Deal or No Deal". Howie has an intense phobia about germs, and has written an autobiography entitled 'Here's the Deal: Don't Touch Me'.

Most famous for his roles in "The Goon Show" and "Pink Panther" films, as well as for his marriage to former Bond girl Britt Ekland, Peter Sellers was due to meet fellow Goons Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe for a reunion dinner in late July 1980. Shortly before this, however, he collapsed from a massive heart attack in London's Dorchester Hotel, and died two days later aged 54.

Like many fledgling Australian comedy teams, this group met at university doing comedy reviews. They created such classic Australian shows as "The D-Generation", "The Late Show", and that wonderful spoof on current affairs shows, "Frontline". They formed Working Dog Productions in 2003.

Born in Brighton in 1894, Max Miller was Britain's leading comedian of the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his loud, flower patterned suits, and double entendres. Despite being banned several times by the BBC because of risque material, he appeared in four Royal Variety Shows and had what was then a record breaking 20-week run at the London Palladium.

Pamela Stephenson was born in 1949 in Takapuna, Auckland, and is married to the Scottish comedian Billy Connolly. They met on the set of "Not The Nine O'Clock News" in the late 1970s. She obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1996 and began her practice as a clinical psychologist in Britain.

Magda Szubanski started in university revues but was spotted and employed by ABC TV's 'The D-Generation'. She went on to help create "Fast Forward", the most successful comedy sketch show ever in Australia. With her comedic talent and mastery of accents, she played a wide range of recurring characters. From 1994 to 1995 she wrote, produced and starred in "Big Girl's Blouse". Later that year she reached an international audience with her role in "Babe", concentrating much of her efforts after that on theatre and film.

Billy Connolly received a BAFTA nomination for best actor for his portrayal of John Brown in the film "Mrs Brown" (1997). Brent Butt starred as Brent Leroy, the loveable yet sarcastic owner of the only gas station for miles around in the fictional town of Dog River, Saskatchewan. The outdoor and gas station scenes were filmed in the real town of Rouleau, Saskatchewan. (They even painted the local grain elevator to read 'Dog River'.) 'The Dog River Howler' was the local paper, which was full of misspellings, confusing headlines and half-true stories. The show ran from 2004 to 2009.

Director Gary Marshall originally cast Robin Williams as Mork for a single episode appearance on the show "Happy Days" (1974 to 1984), set in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the late 1950s. As a result of the character's popularity, he was given his own show. "Mork & Mindy" premiered in 1978 and was set in present day Boulder, Colorado.

Answer: Give My Head Peace

The "Give My Head Peace" series grew out of a TV film "Two Ceasefires and a Wedding", screened in 1995, which parodied the 'love across the barricades' plot of much previous literature, drama and song dealing with the North of Ireland's conflict. The original key story line revolved around the love affair (and later marriage) of Emer, the daughter of a bigoted Republican fanatic, and Billy, a simple-minded Royal Ulster Constabulary policeman. Written by an actor's collective called the Hole in the Wall Gang, "Give My Head Peace" ran until 2007 - with key characters being the Republicans 'Da' and son 'Cal', and their equally bigoted loyalist counterparts 'Uncle Andy' and 'Big Mervyn'. John Candy was also well known for his roles in such films as "Uncle Buck" (1989), "Home Alone" (1990), and "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" (1987).
