In the 1961 Disney film "The Parent Trap" Hayley performs the song "Let's Get Together" which became a #8 best selling hit. Patty Duke played "identical cousins" in "The Patty Duke Show."

When Cox was cremated upon his death in 1973, his close friend Marlon Brando took possession of the ashes. When Brando died in 2004 their ashes were scattered together in Death Valley, California. "Mr. Peepers" and "Hiram Holiday" were the title characters in Cox's TV series.

The "flip side" of his record was titled "What A Crazy Guy (Dufo)." It was the first 45 RPM record to come in a picture envelope.
