1. The first Doctor, William Hartnell, appeared in the first ever "Carry On" film. What was the title of this film?

Answer: Carry on Sergeant

In "Carry on Sergeant", William Hartnell played the lead part of Sergeant Grimshaw, who is about to retire from the army. The Sergeant has a bet with a colleague that he can mould his last bunch of recruits into his first ever champion platoon. The film also featured "Carry On" stalwarts Charles Hawtrey, Hattie Jacques, Kenneth Connor, Kenneth Williams and Terry Scott.
2. Patrick Troughton, the second Doctor, appeared as a character called Father Brennan in which 1970's horror film?

"The Omen" was a British/American horror film released in 1976, which spawned several sequels and a 2006 remake. A grieving couple, played by Gregory Peck and Lee Remick, lose their child shortly after he is born. They decide to adopt a boy who lost his mother at the same moment they lost their child. Strange events start to occur, which lead Troughton's character, Father Brennan, to believe that the child, named Damien, is the Antichrist.

In addition to "Doctor Who", Jon Pertwee is also famous for playing the lead role in the children's series "Worzel Gummidge". The show ran for six series, two of which were made and set in New Zealand.

Jean Marsh returned to "Doctor Who" during the Sylvester McCoy era, playing the part of Morgaine in the story "Battlefield". She is best known for co-creating and appearing as the character Rose Buck in the classic series "Upstairs Downstairs", a 1970's drama about the lives of a wealthy family and their servants. She reprised this role in the 2010 BBC TV continuation of the original series.
4. The fourth actor to play the Doctor, Tom Baker, appeared as Wyvern in a supporting role in which modern remake of a classic 1960's series?

Answer: Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)

Tom Baker was working on a construction site when he found out that he had got the lead role in "Doctor Who", and he went on to play the role for seven years. In addition to "Doctor Who", he presented the children's TV show "The Book Tower" from 1979 to 1981, played the part of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC production of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" in 1982, and also did the voice-over for the comedy sketch show "Little Britain".

The remake of "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)" starred the comedians Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. Marty Hopkirk (Reeves) is killed in the first episode, but returns as a ghost who can only be seen by his friend Jeff Randall (Mortimer). The original series featured Mike Pratt as Randall and Kenneth Cope as Hopkirk.

Peter Davison's real name is Peter Moffat, which coincidentally is the name of a former director of "Doctor Who". Peter Moffat actually directed three stories in the fifth Doctor's era ("The Visitation", "Mawdryn Undead" and "The Five Doctors").

"All Creatures Great and Small" was a drama series based on the books of James Herriot, and followed the adventures of a veterinary surgeon. The lead character, James Herriot, was played by Christopher Timothy and the show also starred Robert Hardy as Siegfried Farnon. John McGlynn played Calum Buchanan in later series.

Prior to getting the part of the sixth Doctor, Colin Baker appeared in the fifth Doctor story "Arc of Infinity". His character, Commander Maxil, actually shot Peter Davison's Doctor at the end of the first episode!

"The Brothers" was a series about a family run road-haulage business. The series ran for 94 episodes over seven years and was a popular Sunday night BBC1 show.

Sylvester McCoy played the character Radagast the Brown in the 2012 film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", based on the classic book by J.R. Tolkien.

"Jigsaw" was a popular children's show on the BBC, which ran from 1979 to 1984. The show featured Jigg, a giant jigsaw piece, which was voiced by John Leeson. Leeson is better known for being the voice of K-9, canine companion of the Doctor.

In addition to "Doctor Who", Paul McGann is probably best known for starring in the TV series "The Monocled Mutineer", and the film "Withnail and I".

Mark McGann starred as John Lennon in two TV movies made by NBC in America, and has also featured in the theatre shows "Blood Brothers" and "An Inspector Calls".

Stephen McGann has also appeared in "Blood Brothers", and is known for playing the part of Sean Reynolds in the TV soap "Emmerdale", from 1999 to 2002.

Joe McGann is best known for playing the part of a retired footballer turned housekeeper in the ITV comedy series "The Upper Hand".

Christopher Eccleston became a household name after starring alongside Mark Strong, Gina McKee and Daniel Craig in the successful and popular BBC2 drama series "Our Friends in the North".

"Heroes" was an American science-fiction drama series that ran from 2006 to 2010. The series follows the fortunes of several people whose lives were changed when they developed super-powers. Claude Rains is also the name of an actor who starred in many films including the title character in "The Invisible Man" in 1933.
10. The tenth Doctor, David Tennant, played the role of Peter Vincent in which 2011 film?

Answer: Fright Night

David Tennant has appeared in many theatre performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, including his highly praised run in "Hamlet" in 2008.

"Fright Night" was a remake of the 1985 film of the same name. In the remake, Anton Yelchin stars as a teenager who gets suspicious when several students go missing after his new neighbour (Colin Farrell) moves in. He seeks the help of Los Angeles magician Peter Vincent (Tennant), who is a supposed expert on vampires.
