John Carpenter had been a close friend of Bob's. It was noted that the day before the murder both men had appeared uncomfortable and, the day of the murder, Carpenter had suspiciously flown off in an airplane. In 1992, once DNA technology was advanced, John Carpenter was arrested for the murder of Bob Crane. Yet, in court, the jury ruled that he was innocent.
