Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This master of the beasts played the role of Chet on "The Young and the Restless" in 1999.

Answer: Marc Singer

Marc Singer was "The Beastmaster" Dar in the 1982 movie; the 1991 and 1996 sequels "Beastmaster II: Through the Portal of Time" and "Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus"; and Dartanas in the TV series of the same name. My favorite role of Marc's is that of Mike Donovan in the "V" TV movies and series.
2. Billy Jacoby played Brad, a good friend of Rick Stratton, in the 80s TV series "Silver Spoon". In which of these popular TV dramas did he play a character named Billy Waters?

Answer: Charmed

Billy is sometimes credited as Billy Jayne, instead of Jacoby. In season one of "Charmed" he played Billy Waters in 'The Wendigo'. The Wendigo is a werewolf like creature that rips the hearts of its victims from their chests. In that episode one of the "Charmed" main characters (Piper) did turn into the Wendigo, briefly. Billy is linked to Marc Singer by way of the first "Beastmaster" movie, playing young Dar.
3. This actor was born in Sydney, Australia in 1968. He appeared on the soap "Another World" and the prime time drama "Profiler". He may be best know for his role as the half demon, half human Cole Turner.

Answer: Julian McMahon

Julian McMahon is linked to Billy Jacoby through the TV series "Charmed". While Billy was in one episode, Julian portrayed Cole Turner (whose demon half was called Belthazor) for 3 seasons (seasons 3, 4, and 5). Julian, and co-star Dylan Walsh, began a successful first season on the FX Network in the drama "Nip/Tuck" in late 2003. Julian and "Nip/Tuck" co-star Roma Maffia also starred together on "Profiler" from 1996-2000.
4. From "Profiler" to "Pretender" in television and onto the big screen in "The Hot Chick", Robert Davi also voiced the role Colonel Cortez in what Rock Star Games video game release?

Answer: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Along side Robert in "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" were Ray Liotta, Dennis Hopper, Tom Sizemore, Gary Busey, Lee Majors, Fairuza Balk, and Burt Reynolds. Davi obviously links to McMahon through "Profiler".
5. Rob Schneider has been known for his roles in "Saturday Night Live", "Deuce Bigalow", and "Big Daddy". He spent a season along side Justine Bateman in what sitcom?

Answer: Men Behaving Badly

Rob links to Robert Davi via "The Hot Chick". A wonderful character actor, Rob can also be seen in "Demolition Man", "Judge Dredd", "The Waterboy", "Little Nicky", and "Mr. Deeds".
6. Stanley and Frank, and Rocky too, who is this man to me and you?

Answer: Sylvester Stallone

Stanley in "The Lords of Flatbush"; Frank in "Capone"; Rocky in all the "Rocky" movies; and linked to Rob in both "Judge Dredd" and "Demolition Man".
7. This 'golden' boy was in a movie with Elvis Presley in 1963; played the King in a 1979 TV movie called "Elvis"; and did the voice of Elvis in "Forrest Gump".

Answer: Kurt Russell

David played Elvis in "Heartbreak Hotel"; Dale in the book to TV movie "Elvis and Me"; and Michael in a 1990 TV mini-series "Elvis". The golden reference is a play on words about Goldie Hawn. Kurt's link to Sylvester Stallone is in the movie "Tango and Cash".
8. Which of these men has played a rock star, genius, Billy the Kid and Doc Holliday, a man of many guises, and someone with a close personal relationship with God?

Answer: Val Kilmer

The rock star roles were in "Top Secret!" and "The Doors"; the genius in "Real Genius"; William Bonney in "Billy The Kid"; Doc in "Tombstone"; a spy in "The Saint"; and Moses in the animated tale "The Prince of Egypt". The 1993 movie "Tombstone" links Kurt and Val. Kurt played Wyatt Earp.
9. Wicket, Glimfeather, Grildrig, Lucky, and Flitwick. These interesting character names belong to whom?

Answer: Warwick Davis

Playing the determined Willow Ufgood in "Willow" along side Val Kilmer is the place I first admired Warwick Davis. I also enjoyed his performance in "Harry Potter" as Professor Flitwick. He shows he can be an evil character as the reoccurring "Leprechaun".
10. Alan Rickman played foe to Bruce Willis' John McClane in "Die Hard". In what movie is he Kevin Costner's enemy?

Answer: Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

Alan was the Sheriff of Nottingham in that movie. He links to Warwick in the "Harry Potter" series as one of my favorite characters, Professor Snape.
11. His movie career began with with a bang as a valet at the Playboy Mansion. It rocked on as Pookie, Bony T, and Lance Barton. Who is this funny man and friend to the HBO network?

Answer: Chris Rock

He had his first movie role in "Beverly Hills Cop II" in 1987. He joined back up with Eddie Murphy in 1992 for "Boomerang" and portrayed comedian Lance Barton, Charles Wellington and Joe Guy in the 2001 movie "Down to Earth". His link to Alan Rickman comes in the movie "Dogma" also starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

He had his own show on HBO called "The Chris Rock Show" and delivered several HBO stand up comedy specials, including "Bring The Pain" and "Bigger and Blacker".
12. Judd Nelson's long career includes the roles of rebel John Bender; misguided youth Joe Hunt; and the not ready for marriage Alec Newbary. In which of these movies does he play a man with a third arm?

Answer: The Dark Backward

Judd and Chris were both in "New Jack City" with Wesley Snipes in 1991. John Bender is the very well known character he played in "The Breakfast Club".
13. Usher and Judd Nelson were both in the 1999 movie "Light It Up". He has also been seen on "Moesha" and "American Dreams". Though well known as a musical performer under the one name of Usher, what is his last name?

Answer: Raymond

Each of the choices are real last names of musical artists. Broadus is the last name of rapper Snoop Dogg; Simmons of rapper DMX; and Noble of rapper Redman. Usher portrayed Marvin Gaye on "American Dreams" in 2002 and was a composer on the 1993 Janet Jackson/Tupac Shakur movie "Poetic Justice".
14. His first movie role was in "Back to The Future II". Later he was the protector of a younger brother in "Radio Flyer". We see him at the age of 20 along an ensemble cast, in an epic adventure filmed in New Zealand. What is his name again..?

Answer: Elijah Wood

Elijah was an accomplished actor before he began his work on Peter Jackson's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Not only does he link back to Usher Raymond via their performance in "The Faculty", but he has also co-starred with Macaulay Culkin in "The Good Son"; Kevin Costner and Mare Winningham in "The War"; and with Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall, and Tea Leoni in "Deep Impact".
15. Memorable characters for an all time favorite of mine are: Thomas J, Kevin McCallister, Richie Rich, and real life party monster Michael Alig.

Answer: Macaulay Culkin

I'll never forget crying in the movie theater when Thomas J's funeral was shown in the movie "My Girl". I have been a fan from that moment on. Macaulay Culkin made it big in his 2 "Home Alone" movies, but was also seen along side John Candy in "Uncle Buck". Future "My Girl" co-star Anna Chlumsky also had a small part in "Uncle Buck".
