As President of the Actors Orphanage, this charming and brilliant man was also widely known and loved everywhere for his generosity and kindness towards those who were down on their uppers. Stories abound of the hundreds of old theatrical acquaintances who were unobtrusively helped by him when they were on hard times.
8. During the life of the TV sitcom "Frasier", which of the show's stars received the most fan mail?

Answer: Eddie Crane (played by Moose the dog)

Moose (1990-2006) was a very boisterous puppy, too much for his original owner to handle, so he was given to a company that trains animals for the entertainment industry. To make him lick or nuzzle his co-stars if the scene called for it, either sardine oil or liver pate was applied to their faces or behind their ears.

Otherwise, actor John Mahoney revealed he was "greatly indifferent towards us." After the show finished, Moose spent the rest of his in comfortable retirement at his trainer's home, providing free board and lodging to homeless fleas.
9. Who was the first female President of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences?

On the outbreak of WWII, she spent months selling war bonds to help aid the war effort, and in two days, once sold over two million dollars worth. Bette Davis was co-founder of the Hollywood Canteen, an organisation providing free food, dancing and entertainment to all service personnel on their way overseas.

She devoted an enormous amount of her time and energy to its establishment, serving as its president until it closed at the end of the war. In 1980 she was awarded the Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, the U.S. Department of Defense's highest civilian award for this work and commented that, "There are few accomplishments in my life that I am sincerely proud of.

The Hollywood Canteen is one of them."
10. Which beautiful actress suffered from an almost overwhelming and excruciating stage fright before every scene she ever filmed in her movies?

Answer: Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn's stage fright was so debilitating that it was the major cause of her chronic lateness in turning up for filming and her difficulty on set. Producer Henry Weinstein recalled seeing her on several occasions being physically and violently ill as she prepared for her scenes and commented at a later date that, "Very few people experience terror. We all experience anxiety, unhappiness, unhappiness, heartbreaks, but what she went through was sheer primal terror." This vulnerable and fragile actress still continues to haunt us and tug at the heart strings decades after her tragic, early death.
