Answer: 25th September

Michael was born in 1944 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and Catherine was born in 1969 in Swansea, Wales. They met in 1998 at a film festival in Deauville, France, got engaged on New Years' Eve 1999 and married at the Plaza Hotel, New York on 18 November 2000.

Answer: It Runs in the Family

This 2003 film followed the problems of Alex Gromberg (Michael) and his relationships with his family - his parents Mitchell and Evelyn (played by his father Kirk Douglas and his mother Diana Douglas) and his son Asher (played by his son Cameron Douglas).

Answer: Andrew Shepherd

The film is a comedy-drama about the widowed President Andrew Shepherd who falls in love with political lobbyist Sydney Ellen Wade (Annette Bening), giving his rivals and the media the opportunity to attack his presidency. A J MacInerny was played by Martin Sheen who then went on to play President Josiah Bartlet in 'The West Wing'; Lewis Rothschild was played by Michael J Fox and Leon Kodak was played by David Paymer.

Michael's Oscar in 1976 was for co-producer (with Saul Zaentz) of the film which won the Best Picture Award. His other Oscar was for Best Actor as Gordon Gekko in 'Wall Street'.

Kathleen Turner was his co-star in 'Romancing the Stone', 'The Jewel of the Nile' and 'The War of the Roses'. Annette Bening was his co-star in 'The American President', Sharon Stone in 'Basic Instinct' and Gwyneth Paltrow in 'A Perfect Murder'.

Steve Tobias was the CIA operative who dragged conventional podiatrist Jerome Payser (Albert Brooks), the father of his prospective daughter-in-law, into a series of chaotic activities, not least jumping off the tallest building in Chicago when they were strapped together with (fortunately) a parachute!
7. Michael's character said 'Greed, for lack of a better word, is good' in which film?

Michael, as Gordon Gekko, was a ruthless Wall Street broker who took the young and naive Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) under his wing. In his speech to the stockholders of Teldar Paper, Gekko explained his philosophy about greed in a way that made it sound logical and even honourable, but in the end it was greed that brought both Gekko and Fox down.

It was the role of Gekko that gave Michael his Oscar as Best Actor.
8. Which film in 2001 starred Michael with Sean Bean?

Michael played Dr Nathan Conrad, a psychiatrist, and Sean Bean played Patrick Koster, the leader of a gang of thieves. Koster kidnapped Nathan's daughter in order to force Nathan to get information from a disturbed young woman called Elisabeth, about a jewel which the gang had stolen 10 years earlier.
9. Which of Michael's films was directed by Richard Attenborough?

Answer: A Chorus Line

Michael played Zach, the choreographer, who interviewed the line-up of hopeful chorus members. It was panned by the critics and was not one of Michael's or Attenborough's best films.
10. Which magazine did Michael and Catherine Zeta Jones sue in 2003?

They had signed a $1.8 million deal with Okay! magazine to print photos of their wedding. Hello! scooped the photos and published them 3 days earlier than Okay! magazine. When Michael and Catherine sued for £835,000 they were awarded just £24,000 by the judge who said that Hello! had only breached their 'commercial confidence' despite Michael and Catherine's claim of 'emotional distress'.
