Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Singer/bassist Sting, born in Wallsend, England, did what for a living prior to meeting Stewart Copeland and forming The Police?

Answer: Teacher

He worked at St. Paul's Middle School in Northumberland County. The inspiration for his song "Don't Stand So Close To Me" came from his time spent there.
2. Steve Perry has an instantly recognizable voice as the former lead singer of Journey and as a solo artist. What kind of work was he doing when he auditioned for Journey?

Answer: Farming

Steve Perry had been with a band called Alien Project who had been close to getting a recording contract when their bass player was killed in a car accident. As a result, the band broke up, and Perry seemingly decided to give up looking for a career in music and was working on a farm when his former band's demo was heard by Journey's then-manager Herbie Herbert.

The rest, as they say, was history.

5. As one of the original groups to come out of the grunge movement, Pearl Jam has remained at the top of their game since the early 1990s and owe much of their success to their frontman, Eddie Vedder. What was Eddie doing when he first heard Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard's demo?

Answer: Working as an attendant at a gas station.

Eddie was working in southern California when he met former Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Jack Irons who passed along the demo to Eddie where he wrote lyrics, dubbed his vocals onto the demo and returned it Jeff and Stone who were amazed by what they heard.
6. Did Blondie frontperson Debbie Harry work as a Playboy Bunny?
