Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This celebrity is not just a model turned actor, he was also famous as a singer/rapper before even turning to modeling. Who is it?

Answer: Mark Wahlberg

Walhberg is the only one among the options that did all three, and in that order. McFly is a fictional character, Klein a fashion designer, and Travolta first made it big as an actor.

Wahlberg broke into celebrity status as the leading man in "Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch" before turning to modeling and finally becoming an award-winning actor. In 1991 he and the other members of the Funky Bunch received a Grammy nomination for the song "Good Vibrations". In 1992 he began appearing in Calvin Klein print and television ads. He began acting in television and small movie roles in 1993 and got his first leading role in 1996 with "Fear".
2. Jamie Dornan, from "50 Shades of Grey" (2015) fame, was a model primarily for which fashion designer before he turned to acting?

Answer: Calvin Klein

Dornan began his modeling career in 2001, and was eventually deemed the "Golden Torso" by the New York Times. He turned to acting with his first role in "Marie Antoinette", which debuted in 2006. He quickly rose up the ranks of Hollywood and began to get leading roles. Released in 2015, "50 Shades of Grey", was his first leading role.
3. Well-known Versace model, James Marsden, launched himself into acting fame by getting a role in which movie franchise based on a Marvel comic book?

Answer: X-Men

Marsden was a Versace model in the mid-1990s, appearing mostly in print ads, but also in the occasional commercial. He earned a major role playing Cyclops in the original "X-Men" movies. He also had a role in "Superman Returns" (2006) a few years later. That option, however, isn't correct as it both happened after the Cyclops role, and was based on a DC comic. Marsden was in "X-Men" (2000), "X-Men 2" (2003) and "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006) as the team leader. He also played the leading role in "The 24th Day" (2004).
4. Which man, a future star in the "Transformers" film franchise, was named International Model and Talent Agency's male model of the year in 1997?

Answer: Josh Duhamel

Duhamel won the award while his fellow future Hollywood star Kutcher was the runner-up. Both Duhamel and Kutcher moved first to the small screen and later became movie stars. Duhamel was also an extra in the music video "Genie in a Bottle" for Christina Aguilera.

Duhamel was one of the leads in four of the first five "Transformers" movies from 2009-17, and also the lead actor on the television series "Battle Creek" (2015). In addition to starring in those shows, he started his career acting career in television soap operas appearing on "All My Children" (1999-2002). He also had a leading role on the show "Las Vegas" (2003-08).
5. What television show gave Ashton Kutcher his break as he transitioned away from modeling into acting?

Answer: That 70s Show

Kutcher began his career as a model for Abercrombie & Fitch and Calvin Klein. He had several small roles in movies around the same time, as "That 70s Show" (1998-2006) started to bring him to acting stardom. He was, however, a main actor/host on all four show options.

After becoming a household name on TV, Kutcher made waves in the movie world starring in "Dude Where's My Car?" (2000), "The Guardian" (2006), "Killers" (2010), and several other movies.
6. Which "super" actor has played comic book heroes on both the big and small screen?

Answer: Brandon Routh

As a model Routh worked only on smaller campaigns, mostly to help pay for college tuition. His first acting role was in a Christina Aguilera video for the song "What a Girl Wants". Eventually he won the role as Clark Kent/Superman in "Superman Returns" (2006) and later as Ray Palmer/The Atom in TV's "Arrow", "The Flash", and "Legend's of Tomorrow".

His acting career has continued to include both movie and television roles. By the way, he played on the same high school soccer team as fellow movie superhero Jason Momoa, who went on to play Aquaman in several movies.
7. Whose first acting role, after a career as a runway model, included getting beaten up by Alicia Silverstone?

Answer: Josh Holloway

In the video he steals Silverstone's purse, after which she chases him down, and beats him up. Holloway was one of the stars of the TV series "Lost" (2004-10) for its entire run.
