Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What cat was a member of an animal super hero group called "Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew"?

Answer: Alley-Cat-Abra

This unique group of super heroes was first seen in DC comics in 1982, and was written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Scott Shaw. It didn't catch on very well, and only 20 issues were released, followed by the Oz-Wonderland Trilogy.
2. What cat starred in the first X-Rated animated cartoon?

Answer: Fritz the Cat

I never saw it but I did read about it. There was a sequal called "The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat" and then Fritz faded away to forgotten cartoon land. I read that his creator R. Crumb killed him off.
3. What cartoon cat was always getting hit in the head by a wacky mouse called "Ignatz Mouse"?

Answer: Krazy Kat

This cat was created by George Herriman in 1910. I have seen this cartoon, and the wierd thing about it was that "Krazy Kat" thought the brick throwing was a sign of affection. There was also a dog character, who was a policeman, who loved "Krazy Kat" and was always locking up Ignatz for attacking Krazy. This was one "Krazy" cartoon series.
4. This brainy cartoon kitten starred in a pal cartoon with a dumb, full grown dog called "Ruff" .What was his name?

Answer: Reddy

This cartoon first appeared in 1957, and was the first production by a studio called "Hanna/Barbera". These two creative artists have given children of all ages great delight watching and reading about their many cartoon characters.
5. The last cat to guess is one of my favorites. Who is the cat that lives with his cohorts in "Hoagy's Alley" in New York City?

Answer: Top Cat

"Top Cat" was always coming up with some scam for the benefit of "Top Cat". There was a love/hate relationship with the local police, and even though "Top Cat" always got into trouble, he always seemed to be able to get out. There were only thirty episodes filmed, but much like the original "Star Trek", it seems like there were 100's to me. "Top Cat" was somewhat more popular in print than as an animated series.
