1. When was the first Royal Rumble event?

Answer: 1988

The first Royal Rumble took place at the Coops Coliseum. There were over 18,000 people in attendance. Ricky Steamboat defeated Rick Rude by disqualification in the first matchup. Then, The Jumping Bomb Angels (Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki) defeated The Glamour Girls (Judy Martin and Leilani Kai)in a Two Out of Three Falls Match to win the WWF Women's Tag Team Championships.

The main event was a Two Out Of Three Falls Match between the Islanders and the Young Stallions, which the Islanders won.
2. Who won the first Royal Rumble Match?

Answer: Jim Duggan

Duggan last eliminated One Man Gang to win the match. Over the course of the match, Duggan eliminated One Man Gang, Danny Davis, and Nikolai Volkoff. The match only had 20 participants, unlike the 30 participants in the Royal Rumble Matches afterward.
3. What was special about the 1992 Royal Rumble Match?

Answer: It was for the WWF Championship.

Usually, the winner of the Royal Rumble Match gets a title shot at WrestleMania. This match has the distinction of being the first, and as of 2010, only, Rumble Match for the WWF Championship. Ric Flair won the match, last eliminating Sid Justice, to win the title heading into WrestleMania VIII. Ric Flair entered the match at #3, and lasted over 59 minutes, which had broken the previous record for the longest time spent in a Royal Rumble Match held by Rick Martel.

However, and WrestleMania VIII, "Macho Man" Randy Savage defeated Flair for the championship.
4. Rey Mysterio broke the record for the time spent in a Royal Rumble Match in 2006. Whose record did he break?

Answer: Chris Benoit

Mysterio, as of 2010, still holds the record that Benoit had broken just two years before. Triple holds the record for the fourth longest time spent, which he did in the same match as Rey.
5. Who was the first woman to enter a Royal Rumble Match?

Answer: Chyna

Chyna entered the 1999 Royal Rumble as number 30 after she won a Corporate Royal Rumble on Raw. Chyna lasted 35 seconds and eliminated Mark Henry but was eliminated by Stone Cold. Chyna also entered the Royal Rumble Match the next year, in which she lasted 37 seconds and eliminated Chris Jericho.
6. Kane broke the record for most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble Match in 2001. Whose record did he break?

Answer: Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold

Kane broke the record for most eliminations in a single Royal Rumble Match with 11. Ironically, Stone Cold, one men the men who held the record before Kane, won the match that year. At one point in the match, Kane eliminated 6 straight participants from the match! Although Kane eliminated so many participants, Kane did not win the match. Kane was the last person eliminated in the match by Stone Cold. Kane lasted the longest in the match out of any participants though. Kane lasted 53:46.
7. Who was the first wrestler to win two straight Royal Rumble Matches?

Answer: Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan won the Royal Rumble in 1990 and 1991. Both years, Hogan main evented WrestleMania. In 1990, Hogan became the first WWE Champion to win a "Royal Rumble" Match. In 1991, Hogan received a WWE Championship Match at "WrestleMania VII" against Sgt. Slaughter, whom Hogan defeated.
8. Who became the first person to enter a Royal Rumble Match #1 and go on to win the match?

Answer: Shawn Michaels

Shawn Michaels won the 1995 Royal Rumble entering #1, lasting 38:41. Michaels last eliminated Davey Boy Smith, who entered the match at #2. In the finish of the match, Davey Boy threw Michaels over the top rope, seemingly winning, but only one of Michaels' feet hit the floor, not two. Michaels climbed back into the ring, and tossed Davey Boy over the top rope to win the match.
9. Who entered first in the first ever Royal Rumble Match?

Answer: Bret Hart

Bret Hart entered first and lasted 25:42. Bret lasted the longest out of anybody else in the match. Bret eliminated Tito Santana, with help from Jim Neidhart.
10. Who won the 1994 Royal Rumble Match?

Answer: Bret Hart and Lex Luger

Both Hart and Luger's feet touched the ground at the same time, and for the first time in the match's history, there were co-winners. Hart entered the match at number 23 and Luger entered the match at number 27.
