Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the video by Pat Benetar featuring "women of the night", in which Pat and her "crew" bust out in a dance during the final confrontation?

Answer: Love Is A Battlefield

Actually, this is one of my favorite 80s artists. Funny video -- Pat and the girls battle a pimp by shimmying and dancing at him.
2. Which Texas town was Jessica McClure (the baby in the well) from?

Answer: Midland

Odessa is in Texas near Midland, League City is in Galveston County south of Houston, and Bulverde is a town just north of San Antonio.
3. Which Atari video game featured a jungle explorer, crocodiles, and swinging vines?

Answer: Pitfall

"Panama Jack" is not a video game, "Defender" featured a spaceship blasting enemies over a city skyline, and "Dungeons and Dragons" did actually come out with a video game, but it was created by another game manufacturer. Atari will always be a classic!
4. Which auto-maker had a fictional spokesman who was known for lying about everything, especially the product he was "pitching"?

Answer: Isuzu

"Joe Isuzu" was a great character, who promised consumers everything in order to sell a vehicle.
5. What was the name of the shoe company that made the "All-Star Chuck Taylor" shoe?

Answer: Converse

This shoe, long a traditional staple of basketball courts, etc., became popular in the 80's when it was produced in many, many different colors. Just about everyone, guys AND girls, had a pair of "Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor" sneakers. They also made "All-Stars" that went halfway up your leg as well, and those were one color on the outside, and a different color on the inside.
6. Which "alter ego", portrayed by Paul Reubens, had a hit Saturday morning TV show, a few hit movies, and made countless appearances all over the country?

Answer: Pee Wee Herman

"Pee Wee's Playhouse" was a favorite show of many kids in the 80s.
7. What TV show featured the character, Kevin Arnold?

Answer: The Wonder Years

My absolute favorite TV show of all time! Kevin Arnold was, of course, played by Fred Savage. Great view of life as a kid/teenager in the late 60s/early 70s.
8. Which was the popular hair style known for being "business in the front, and a party in the back"?

Answer: mullet

VERY popular style for guys (and some girls, too).
9. Which movie starred Mathew Modine as a struggling high school wrestler?

Answer: Vision Quest

This movie had an amazing soundtrack, if you love 80s music.
10. Which sports star had his own Nike shoe and scores of commercials?

Answer: Bo Jackson

Bo Jackson, best known for his ability to excel at almost everything he tried, was a star for both the Kansas City Royals and L.A. Raiders. Who knows? Bo knows!
