Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the title Spider-Man first appeared in?

Answer: "Amazing Fantasy"

Actually "Amazing Fantasy" was going to be canceled so that's why they let Stan Lee put him in the book. They didn't want to publish Spider-Man because he was a teenager who, at the time, were only the sidekicks to heroes and because they thought the fact that he was like a spider would scare some readers.
2. What is The Lizard's real name?

Answer: Curt Conners

The Lizard first appeared in "Spider-Man" issue 6 and then didn't appear again until issue 44.
3. Why does Jonah Jameson hate Spider-Man?

Answer: He is jealous of him

Jameson does say that he is jealous of Spider-Man in issue 10.
4. What is the name of Jonah Jameson's newspaper?

Answer: Daily Bugle

They didn't mention Jameson had a newspaper until issue 3.
5. How did Spider-Man's parents die?

Answer: They were double agents pretending to be spies for the Nazis in WWII and were killed by The Red Skull after he found out

All the information mentioned (in the correct answer) is from "Spider-Man Annual" 5.
6. When the Green Goblin first appeared who did he team up with to defeat Spider-Man?

Answer: The Enforcers

The Green Goblin first appeared in issue 14 where he teamed up with The Enforcers and The Hulk just happened to be around.
7. Who was the first Green Goblin?

Answer: Norman Osborn

His son Harry Osborn later took on the role after Norman died of... causes.
8. While The Green Goblin and Spider-Man were fighting he tried to kill Spider-Man but it backfired and killed him instead. How did he try to kill Spider-Man?

Answer: Spikes sticking out of the front of his Goblin Glider

This iconic scene was recreated in the "Spider-Man" movie from 2002.
9. Who was Spider-Man's first recurring enemy?

Answer: The Chameleon

He fought The Burglar in "Amazing Fantasy" 15 but he only showed up once so he doesn't really count.
10. "Spider-Man" issues 96, 97 and 98 were not approved by the Comics Code Authority. Why?

Answer: Mention of drugs

Even though the Comics Code Authority said they wouldn't approve the issues because Peter Parker's friend Harry Osborn was popping pills, Marvel published them anyway.
