Answer: Hits it with a crowbar then burns it

There are a number of episodes where Ethan is trying to use the internet and the dial-up modem is making things impossible. After he and Lucas get broadband, he beats the old modem with a crowbar, pours petrol on it, then lights it with a match, so that the "healing can start".
2. Ethan tries to hang himself with his X-Box control pad in "There's always Tomorrow!", because he can't stop thinking about Sara. Which game is he trying to think about to take his mind off the break-up?

Answer: Asheron's Call 2

He tries to think about characters from the game, but Sara's head appears on their bodies. When Lucas arrives home, Ethan has fallen from the ceiling while trying to hang himself on his control pad, in a symbolic gesture.

Ethan takes an immediate dislike to Scott, and when he says he prefers Linux to Windows, it gets even worse. Ethan is laying down some ground rules to Scott, when he notices a penguin standing beside him, who Scott introduces as Ted.
