4. Who did Shane Douglas wrestle in the opening bout?

Answer: Chris Chetti

After coming to the ring with Francine, Shane Douglas immediately irked the ECW crowd by badmouthing the local Philadelphia Flyers hockey team who had just been eliminated from the playoffs days earlier by 'sweeping' a Flyers jersey out of the ring with a broom. His opponent soon hit the ring, but came out on the losing side of the bout following a belly-to-belly suplex after 7 minutes.
5. Which tag-team did the Pitbulls take on in the 2nd bout?

Answer: Little Guido and Tracey Smothers

The Pitbulls took on the F.B.I. team of the 'Extreme Stud' Little Guido and the 'Main Man' Tracey Smothers (with 'the Big Don' Tommy Rich) in the 2nd bout of the evening. Although out-maned 3 to 2, the Pitbulls took the win following a superbomb on Little Guido.
6. Which of the following statements did Joel Gertner make about Buh Buh Ray Dudley?

Answer: That he was the reason everybody was at the arena that night

Before the next match could begin, The Dudley Boyz, Buh Buh Ray and D-Von, along with their entourage of manager Joel Gertner and half-brothers Big Dick and Sign Guy Dudley came to the ring. They spent the better half of the next 10 mintues insulting the crowd before Gertner finally introduced his men.

As part of his lengthy introductions, he stated that D-Von was from the mean streets of South Dudleyville and that Buh Buh being at the card was the reason why everyone came to the building that night.

The crowd was none to happy with that statement.
7. What was the stipulation of the Dudley Boyz vs. Sandman and Balls Mahoney match?

Answer: Winning team meets the tag champs

After the Dudley Boyz intro's were over, their opponents, the Sandman and Balls Mahoney hit the ring and the match was on. The stipulation of the match was that the winning team would meet the ECW tag champions, the Eliminators, in the main event of the evening.
8. Who scored the winning pinfall of the match mentioned in the previous question?

Answer: Buh Buh Ray Dudley

After 7 and a half minutes of action, The Dudley Boyz nailed Balls with the 3-D on a chair and Buh Buh Ray scored the pinfall, giving the Dudleyz a shot at the tag titles later in the evening.
9. Who was Terry Funk's originally scheduled opponent at 'WrestlePalooza'?

Answer: Stevie Richards

Terry Funk was supposed to fight Stevie Richards in a ECW title defense at 'WrestlePalooza', but a neck injury suffered by Stevie (caused by Terry Funk) 2 weeks earlier prevented him from being able to compete. Stevie told the crowd before the match that he might never be able to wrestle again (not true in the long run) and that he wished Terry Funk good luck in the next bout.

This show would be Stevie's last ECW appearance before he left for WCW.
10. Who became Terry Funk's opponent at 'WrestlePallooza'?

Answer: Chris Candido

Taking Stevie's spot and title shot was Chris Candido. Candido came to the ring with an outfit nearly identical to Funk's as a show of respect. Candido took the offense early and would keep it most of the bout, including nailing Funk with 7 piledrivers, including one through a table. Funk, however, was not to be defeated, and came back with a majistral cradle to win the bout and keep the ECW title after 13 minutes.
11. What was the stipulation of the Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven bout?

Answer: Loser Leaves ECW match

Having feuded for 2 and a half years, Tommy Dreamer decided to end the feud once and for all and challenged Raven to a Loser Leaves ECW bout. The bout was originally scheduled to take place at Hardcore Heaven 1997, but Dreamer wanted Raven out sooner, so the bout was moved ahead by 2 months and took place at WrestlePalooza. Raven had at ringside his last remaining Nest members, Chastity and Lupus. Beulah accompanied Tommy to the ring.

The two brawled into the crowd and outside early, before returning back inside where Raven piledrove Tommy through a merchandise stand.

The match returned ringside where Tommy took a 'Do Not Enter' sign from a ringside fan and blasted Raven with it, before piledriving him on the sign, both reminiscent of House Party 1996. Lupus then came in to help, but was DDT'd by Beulah. Raven begged Beulah to take him back, but was lowblowed by Dreamer for a 2 count. Chastity then came in and sprayed Dreamer in the eyes with hairspray, leading to a Raven DDT and a 2 count. Beulah and Chastity then went at it, before Raven saved Beulah from Chastity and begged her for forgiveness 1 last time, only to get lowblowed a 2nd time, this time by Beulah. Dreamer went to DDT Raven but in the process the ref got knocked down and out.
12. Which wrestler interfered in the Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven bout?

Answer: Louie Spicolli

With the ref down, Louie Spicolli (who had begun to feud with Dreamer a month earlier) hit the ring and began to attack Dreamer, ending with a DDT on the sign. The ref got up and made a 2 count for Raven. Spicolli then attempted to hit Dreamer with his finisher, the Spicolli (Death Valley) Driver, but Dreamer blocked it, only to get DDT'd again by Raven resulting in a 2 count. Dreamer then fought off Spicolli before hitting Raven with a Spicolli Driver of his own, followed by a final DDT on the sign for the 3 count, driving Raven out of ECW and giving Dreamer his first win over Raven.
13. Following the Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven match, who was the first wrestler to run in and attack Tommy Dreamer?

Answer: Rob Van Dam

Only seconds after Dreamer scored the 3 count, he stood up to celebrate when the lights in the building turned off. When they came back on 10 seconds later, Dreamer found a chair being tossed to him, which was in turned kicked in his face by Rob Van Dam. Van Dam had been suspended by ECW a few weeks earlier for appearing on WWF's Raw show on May 12, 1997, and this was his first ECW apperance since that time. Van Dam continued to work Dreamer over, until Dreamer finally got a low blow in to stop Van Dam's momentum.
14. Who was the 2nd man to attack Tommy Dreamer?

Answer: Sabu

After low-blowing RVD, the lights went out again. When they came on, Dreamer had RVD in position to DDT him, but instead got a chair tossed directly at his head from Sabu, RVD's tag partner. Sabu and RVD double teamed Dreamer as Raven finally awoke and gave one final glance to both Dreamer and Beulah (who was being held in a corner by Spicolli) before walking out of the ring and ECW.

After another minute, Dreamer managed to get a Double DDT in on RVD and Sabu.
15. Who was the 3rd man to attack Tommy Dreamer?

Answer: Jerry Lawler

With the lights out again, following the double DDT, the crowd waited in anticipation to see who was next. When the lights returned, in the ring stood the WWF's Jerry 'the King' Lawler. Lawler had been badmouthing ECW on WWF TV for weeks and had brought RVD to RAW twice in the month prior.

This was Lawler's first appearance in ECW, allying himself with Sabu and RVD. Dreamer tried to run and attack Lawler, but was knocked down once more by Sabu and RVD who then allowed Lawler to get in some blows on Dreamer. Lawler picked up a mic and began to insult ECW and the fans and Dreamer.
16. Whom of the following did not try to save Tommy Dreamer?

Answer: Shane Douglas

With Dreamer down and being beaten up by 3 men, the crowd began to chant for various wrestlers to come save Dreamer. A number of them began to come out including the Blue Meanie, Super Nova and others that could provide little help. Even Paul Heyman ran to help, only to get knocked down by RVD's manager Bill Alfonso, before being insulted by Lawler.

The Gangstas were next in line and got a little acomplished before being laid out by Sabu and RVD. The Sandman came to the ring with Singapore Cane in hand but made the mistake of going for a beer, opening himself up to being tackled by Sabu and then being laid out as well. Shane Douglas, meanwhile, watched everything unfold from the 'Eagles Nest' of ECW, above the crowd. Lawler dared him to come help Dreamer, but Douglas told him he wanted nothing to do with Lawler and the WWF and that he was going to just stay out of the way.
17. Who finally ran off Tommy Dreamer's attackers?

Answer: Taz

With Dreamer down and out, along with the Sandman, the Gangstas, and others, Lawler asked if there was anyone left who could save Dreamer. The crowd began to chant loudly for Taz, and finally his music began to play. The crowd erupted as Taz made his way to the ring.

By the time he had made it onto the ring apron, Lawler, RVD, Sabu and Alfonso had back-pedaled to the opposite side of the ring and ran out of it by the time he got in the ring. Taz took Lawler's abandoned mic and insulted them all for leaving and told Lawler to go back to the WWF and never enter his building again. Shane Douglas then yelled at Taz to leave the ring, that he had done the job and to get lost.
18. Which wrestler ended Taz's 21-month undefeated streak at WrestlePalooza?

Answer: Sabu

Taz and Douglas continued to exchange words before Taz challenged Sabu to come back to the ring and take him on. The 2 were also scheduled to take each other on at Hardcore Heaven 1997, but Taz decided they might as well get it done with now as well. Bill Alfonso came to the ring to tell Taz that Sabu wasn't going to fight him. Taz then got a hold of Alfonso and was going to suplex him when Sabu hit the ring and the match was started.

The two fought back and forth for 10 minutes. Near the end of the bout, Sabu put Taz on a table and then splashed him through it from the top rope. Sabu hurt himself as well as Taz on the impact and began to sit up with Taz down behind him. Taz recovered and found Sabu directly in front of him, and locked on the Tazmission. Sabu, looking for a way out, rolled backwards, pinning Taz's shoulders to the mat, although still stuck in the hold.

The ref made the 3 count for Sabu, ending Taz's 21 month undefeated record, having last lost September 16, 1995 at Gangsta's Paradise as part of a 6man bout.

Despite the 3 count, Sabu was still stuck in the Tazmission and eventully passed out in the hold. A number of refs made Taz break it, and when he did he choked out one of the refs. Bill Alfonso then made the mistake of checking up on Sabu, as Taz put the Tazmission on him as well and left him out cold.
19. Who did Taz challenge to a bout following the one in the previous question, under the stipulation that he'd win in 3 minutes or he'd leave ECW for 2 months?

Answer: Shane Douglas

After clearing the ring of everyone, Douglas once again began badmouthing Taz from the 'Eagle's Nest'. Taz told him to come to the ring and try to back up his words. Douglas told him that he had nothing to prove and that he had already been in a match earlier. Shane added that Taz would have to give him a reason to make him come down and fight him. Taz told Shane that if he couldn't beat him in 5 minutes for the TV title, he'd leave ECW for a month, unpaid. Douglas liked the idea, but told Taz he better up that to 2 months. Taz agreed, and then said that he'd make it even better, and said he'd beat him in 3 minutes. Douglas agreed to the stipulations and headed to the ring.

After getting to the ring, Douglas attacked Taz before the bell could even ring.

After it did, he went to work on Taz's neck hitting a wide assortment of moves targeting the area. He then worked Taz over with the TV title. With one minute to go, Taz tossed Shane into a corner. When Shane tried to leapfrog back over Taz, who wasn't there, he wound up instead backing right into the Tazmission. Douglas tried to break free and even tried to roll back over onto Taz like Sabu had done earlier, but it was to no avail. With 20 seconds left, Douglas was forced to tap out to Taz, losing his TV title in the process.

The crowd went wild for Taz, the new ECW TV champion.
20. Which tag team did the Eliminators take on in the Main Event?

Answer: The Dudley Boyz

After a wild evening, it was now time for the main event. However, with Perry Saturn having torn his ACL days earlier, the match was looking like it was not actually going to take place. ECW Commissioner Tod Gordon came to the ring to tell the Dudleyz (who had won the shot earlier in the evening) that the Eliminators were going to have to forfeit the tag titles, because Saturn couldn't compete.

The Eliminators then came to the ring. They were going to hand over the titles when the Dudleyz insulted them one time too many and they agreed to actually try and defend the titles. Tod Gordon decided that he'd let them and the bell rang. Saturn stayed on the arena floor as Kronus tried to fend off both Buh Buh Ray and D-Von, which wasn't going well. Big Dick Dudley then came in for a 3 on 1 beatdown of Kronus. Saturn finally made his way into the ring and broke a crutch over Big Dick's back and managed to get Buh Buh with a Diamond cutter. Kronus then took the lead for a couple of minutes before being triple teamed once more.

He managed to fend off Buh Buh and Big Dick just long enough to hit a 450 Splash on D-Von before fighting with the other 2 on the floor. With D-Von still down, Saturn managed to climb to the top rope and nailed D-Von with a flying elbowdrop for the win, leg cast and all. ECW's medical staff then helped Saturn to the back as the Eliminators had successfully retained their titles to end 'WrestlePalooza' 1997.
