"Parks and Recreation" was a sitcom starring Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope. Leslie was an overambitious employee in the Parks Department for Pawnee, Indiana. She often had big ideas and took her job very seriously. Nick Offerman played Ron Swanson, the Director of the Parks Department. Ron hated government and strived to make the Parks Department as awful and useless as possible.

Other characters include April Ludgate, Ron's equally sarcastic assistant played by Aubrey Plaza and Tom Haverford, a Parks employee who treats himself to extravagant luxuries.

This was during the Revolutionary War period where tensions were high between the American-aligned French and the British.

Some people in the town wanted to remain under French control while others wanted to become British. Furthermore, Alice and her family want to turn the town over to the Americans. Alice becomes a hero and fights alongside the French and Americans against the British.

She takes up arms and sews American flags that she must keep hidden.

John Clark was born John Kelly in Indianapolis. John's lost both of his parents, his first wife and unborn child in a series of traumatic circumstances.
