Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Back in the mid 80s, Jack Tunney suspended referee Danny Davis for his crooked officiating ways. How long did he say the suspension was for?

Answer: Life

It was a lifetime ban. Tunney would later lift the ban after Davis changed his ways.
2. Why did Jack Tunney suspend Andre The Giant back in 1986?

Answer: He didn't show up for a match.

Andre was supposed to team with Hillbilly Jim against King Kong Bundy and Big John Studd, but didn't show. Bobby Heenan was upset and asked Tunney to suspend him, which he did. The real reason behind this was to give Andre some much needed time off.
3. In Febuary 1988, Jack Tunney made a very famous ruling. What was it?

Answer: The WWF Heavyweight Title was declared vacant.

This was the result of the Hulk Hogan versus Andre The Giant match on February 5th. In the match, Dave Hebner was supposed to be the referee, but it turned out that Ted DiBiase had paid off Dave's twin brother, Earl, to screw Hogan out of the WWF Heavyweight Title.

At one point, Andre had Hogan pinned and, although Hogan had a shoulder up, a three count was recorded anyway. Dave came to the ring and argued with his brother. Andre ended up handing the belt to DiBiase. Tunney ended up declaring the title vacant and set up a tournament for the vacant title at "Wrestlemania IV." In the final round Randy Savage defeated DiBiase to win the title.
4. In 1990, after all three members of Demolition got in several fights, what was Jack Tunney's ruling?

Answer: Never again would 3 members of Demolition be allowed in the same place at the same time.

The three members were Ax, Smash, and Crush. Ax was the odd man out.
5. Why did Jack Tunney suspend Rick Rude for life in late 1990?

Answer: He made offensive remarks about the Big Boss Man's mother.

Rick Rude made some crude remarks about the Big Boss Man's mother for several weeks. Finally, Tunney had had enough and basically fired him.
6. Who did Jack Tunney name as the number one contender for the WWF Heavyweight Title in February 1991?

Answer: Hulk Hogan

Hogan would defeat Sergeant Slaughter to win the WWF Heavyweight Title for the third time at "Wrestlemania VII."
7. As a result of his loss to the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage was not allowed to wrestle. After the public wanted to see Savage compete as a result of the actions of Jake "The Snake" Roberts, what did Tunney rule at first?

Answer: That he was taking the matter under advisement.

Savage was officially reinstated in time for "Tuesday In Texas." He would defeat Roberts at this event.
8. On December 3, 1991, Hulk Hogan defeated the Undertaker to win back the WWF Heavyweight Title. What did Tunney rule shortly after the match?

Answer: That the title was vacant.

Toward the end of the match, Ric Flair came down and got into an argument with Tunney who was watching the match from ringside. Hogan grabbed a chair and hit Flair in the back with it. Flair fell into Tunney and they both went down. Hogan used the ashes from the Undertaker's urn to blind the Undertaker and rolled him up to win back the WWF Heavyweight Title. Because of the way Hogan won, Tunney declared the title vacant.

The winner of the 1992 "Royal Rumble" would be the new champion. Ric Flair entered at number three and lasted over an hour to become champion.
9. In a ruling that involved "Summerslam" 1993, Tunney ruled that Lex Luger couldn't use his forearm in his match against Yokozuna.

Answer: False

Tunney ruled that Luger could use his forearm as long as he wore a protective pad. Lugar won the match by countout when he used his forearm to knock Yokozuna out of the ring, and Yokozuna couldn't answer the 10 count. As a result Yokozuna retained the WWF Heavyweight Title.
10. In his last major ruling, what did Tunney rule concerning the finish of the 1994 "Royal Rumble" where Lex Luger and Bret Hart eliminated each other at the same time?

Answer: That they were co-winners.

Tunney ruled that both Hart and Luger were co-winners. As a result, they would both receive title shots against Yokozuna at "Wrestlemania X." Yokozuna managed to retain his title against Lugar, but lost it to Hart.
