Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This uncle was famous for his strange laughter in the television show, "Bewitched". He thought he was funny, but the rest of the family didn't necessarily think so at times. What is this uncle's name?

Answer: Uncle Arthur

Paul Lynde played the role of Uncle Arthur from 1965 to 1971. Paul was born in Ohio in 1926. He was on "The Red Buttons Show" in 1955, and picked up his uncle role 10 years later. Hey kids, you might remember his voice in the movie, "Charlotte's Web", with the pig. He was the voice of Templeton, the rat.

Quite a few people might also remember him as the 'center square' in "The Hollywood Squares" television game show, when Peter Marshall was the host. Paul passed away in 1982, but I'll never forget the cackling laugh. Thanks Uncle Arthur!
2. Jackie Coogan, Christopher Lloyd and Michael Roberds all played this famous uncle from "The Addams Family". Can you name this uncle?

Answer: Uncle Fester

Uncle Fester was first brought to us by Jackie Coogan, in the television show, in 1964. I always got "The Munsters" and "The Addams Family" confused. Jackie was in numerous television shows and movies in his earlier years. His family was in show business, so he just rolled into the show biz world. Jackie had married four women over his lifetime, including the beautiful Betty Grable from 1937 to 1939.

He didn't get into show business right after the divorce from Grable; he waited a few years before getting back into the swing of things.
3. This uncle was married to Auntie Em in the movie, "The Wizard of Oz". What was this uncle's name?

Answer: Uncle Henry

Uncle Henry, who was portrayed by Charley Grapewin, was about the nicest, kindest person you could ever know. Charley was most know for his roles in "The Wizard of Oz" and "The Grapes of Wrath". He died in Corona, California in 1956, and they actually named a street in remembrance of him.
4. Uncle Joe had a raspy sort of voice. Edgar Buchanan could play the role of Uncle Joe so well. Edgar actually portrayed the role of Uncle Joe in three different television shows, which was NOT one of them?

Answer: Leave it to Beaver

Edgar played the role of Uncle Billy in "Leave it to Beaver". Edgar was a regular on "The Beverly Hillbillies" and "Petticoat Junction", but guest starred on "Green Acres" numerous times. Edgar was a dentist before he became an actor. What a career change, huh?
5. This actor was not only known as Uncle Miltie, but he was also known as Mr. Television. His real name is Mendel Berlinger. What is this actor's last name?

Answer: Berle

This buck tooth actor was the comic of comics. He was the hit in all of his television shows. He started with his own series in 1948, on the "The Milton Berle Show". He was known to wear some hilarious costumes, including a bunny rabbit and women's clothing.

He played the comical J. Russell Finch in, "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", in 1963. Milton passed away in 2002 to cancer in Los Angeles. We miss you Uncle Miltie!
6. This author was famous for many children's stories around the world. Joel (Chandler) Harris never knew how popular this uncle would be to kids of all ages. What uncle is famous for, "Song of the South"?

Answer: Uncle Remus

I love the movie, "Song of the South" with James Bassett. James played the role of Uncle Remus in this Disney movie. One of my favorite songs from the movie would be "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". The song won the Oscar for Best Song. Whenever you're feeling a bit down, sing this song and I guarantee you'll be smiling in no time at all.
7. Violet, Klaus and Sunny are all sent to live with this uncle in the book series, "Series of Unfortunate Events". They didn't like living with Count Olaf, but they did love this snake loving uncle. What was this uncle's name?

Answer: Uncle Monty

This is the cutest children series since "Harry Potter". Violet, Klaus and Sunny are doomed from page one of the first book. They try to escape from the evil Count Olaf throughout each novel. They live with Uncle Monty, until he is killed. Who killed Monty? Was it really one of the snakes? You'll have to read the series to find out.
8. Steve Douglas had three wonderful sons in the television series, "My Three Sons". His sons were Chip, Ernie and Robbie. They were lucky enough to have a wonderful uncle to help take care of them over the years. What is the name of their uncle?

Answer: Uncle Charley

Uncle Charley was played by the actor, William Demarest. He was not always the smiling sweet uncle that you thought, at first. When he was mad, the boys knew it. I'm surprised that they haven't tried to create a sequel to this show. The show debuted in 1960 and ran until 1972.
9. This uncle was portrayed by John Candy in the movie, but was portrayed by Kevin Meaney in the television series. What was this uncle's name?

Answer: Uncle Buck

John Candy was irreplaceable as Buck Russell. His brother and his sister-in-law needed a sitter and Uncle Buck was the best, nope, the ONLY choice, they had available. Of course, their teenage daughter was not fond of this choice, but life does go on. This movie is great; Candy really comes up with some great one liners in the movie.
10. This uncle did not seem to like his nephew, Kevin McCallister, very much. Kevin tried to get something out of the bathroom and his uncle did not like him coming in, to retrieve the item. Then Kevin ruined his family Christmas vacation. What mean uncle was this in "Home Alone" and "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York"?

Answer: Uncle Frank

Uncle Frank was not only mean to Kevin, but he was cheap too. When he found out that Kevin wasn't on the plane, he said that he also, "forgot his reading glasses." When he saw that the drinking glasses were made of real crystal, on the airplane, he told his wife to put them in her purse. He was so mad at Kevin for making the mess in the kitchen that he yelled, "Look what ya did, ya little jerk." He was not the nicest uncle in the world.

Well, let's say "uncle" and finish this one up. That "aunt" bad, huh? Okay, so a bad pun! Hope you enjoyed this quiz.
