Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who managed "The Hart Foundation" to their first WWF World Tag Team Titles?

Answer: Jimmy Hart

The team was formed when Brett Hart joined the WWF. He was considered a "jobber" at first. He was given a "push" and teamed up with Jim Neidhart. The pair was managed by "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart. "The Hart Foundation" quickly rose in the tag team ranks. They faced "The British Bulldogs" on February 7Th, 1987 and won the titles.

This was always my favorite "heel" tag team. They were amazing in the ring and Jimmy's role on the outside made them excellent. They held the titles on two separate occasions.
2. What was the name that Paul Roma and Jim Powers wrestled under?

Answer: The Young Stallions

Paul and Jim were classifieds as "jobbers" They were given a "push" in 1987. They never won a championship and disbanded in 1989. I remember the team as having a lot of energy and talent. Paul Roma moved to the NWA where he held the NWA World Tag Team Titles on four different occasions. Jim Powers continued to wrestle until 2010 when he retired.
3. What was the name of the team Tommy Lane and Mike Davis wrestled as?

Answer: Rock 'n' Roll RPMs

"The Rock 'n' Roll RPMs" were created to capitalize on the popularity of "The Rock 'n' Roll Express". The team wrestled in WCWA, but were unable to win the tag team titles in that territory. They then moved to the CWA where they won the AWA Southern Tag Team Championship twice.

They defeated the team of Jeff Jarrett and Billy Travis on both occasions. Tommy Lane was later replaced with Allen Martin when Tommy left the team.
4. What was the first tag team title held by "The MOD Squad"?

Answer: Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship

Spike and Basher first title victory was a forfeit victory. They held the titles for close to three months before losing to Giant Hillbilly Elmer and Jerry Lawler. They held the NWA Florida and Central States Tag Team Championship one time as well.

Mack and Jim Jeffers were "The MOD Squad". I remember the first time I saw them I thought they were a ripoff of "The Road Warriors". I was however impressed with their in ring abilities.
5. What title did "The Lightning Express" win from "The Hollywood Blondes"?

Answer: NWA National Tag Team Championship

Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner were known as "The Lightning Express". They first teamed in the NWA for Jim Crockett Promotions. They beat the team of Rip Rogers and Ted Oate who went by the moniker "The Hollywood Blondes". They split up for about a year before they joined the UWF. They won the UWF Tag Team Championship from Sting and Rick Steiner.

The in ring style of these two performers was exceptional. I loved the solid way they worked together. Their small stature made them exceptional quick. They were highly underrated in my opinion.
6. What were the nicknames of the team that defeated "The Road Warriors" for the AWA World Tag Team Title?

Answer: Gorgeous and Mr. Electricity

"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin and Steve "Mr. Electricity" shocked the wrestling world when they defeated "The Road Warriors" in 1985. The teamed was heavily assisted by the outside interference of "The Fabulous Freebirds". They held the titles for nearly four months before losing to Curt Hennig and Scott Hall.

The chemistry between the two was incredible. I definitely am a fan of the high flying style of Steve Regal. Both men I count as among my favorite wrestlers of all time.
7. After "The Killer Bees" left the WWF, what name did they wrestle under?

Answer: Masked Confusion

Because the name "The Killer Bees" was owned by the WWF they were unable to use it. They wrestled in Herb Abram's Universal Wrestling Federation where they won the tag team titles there.

They were always one of my favorite teams. I remembered thinking after "The Hart Foundation" won the titles that the "Killer Bees" were definitely next in line. I read somewhere that they were promised the titles, but it never came to fruition. The team was made up of "B" Brian Blair and "Jumpin" Jim Brunzell. I always thought the WWF should have created an Intercontinental Tag Team Championship and the "Killer Bees" would have won this easily in my opinion.
8. Who became the sole manager of "The Dream Team" when he bought the other manager out?

Answer: Johnny Valiant

Jimmy Hart was originally the manager of Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. Johnny Valiant was the manager of Brutus Beefcake. Greg was teamed with Brutus to help get him over. The team set their sights on then champions "The U.S. Express". Jimmy sold Greg's contract to Johnny Valiant and he became their sole manager.

The team won the titles when Johnny rubbed a lit cigar into the eyes of Barry Windham. The team defended the titles until "The British Bulldogs" defeated them at "Wrestlemania 2".
9. Who did "The Sheepherders" have a feud with in the UWF in the year 1986?

Answer: The Fantastics

"The Fantastics" and "The Sheepherders" feud was legendary. It spanned many years and several different federations. It all started in the UWF though. The teams were placed against each other because they were complete opposites. "The Fantastics" were attractive and considered ring technicians. On the other hand "The Sheepherders" were unattractive and straight out brawlers.

The battles between the two teams were often a bloody mess. Tom Rogers and Bobby Fulton were "The Fantastics".
10. Who was Jesse Ventura's partner in "The East-West Connection"?

Answer: Adrian Adonis

Jesse and Adrian made up the team of "The East-West Connection". They were AWA World Tag Team Champions until being defeated by "The High Flyers". They both left the AWA for the WWF where they teamed. They were eventually used as singles talents. I loved watching these two in action. Both were very skilled wrestlers especially Adonis.
