At "Night of Champions" 2008, it was a rematch, but this time it was for the WWE Tag Team Titles. John Morrison and The Miz defeated Finlay and Hornswoggle to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles when John Morrison threw Hornswoggle off of the top rope and onto the canvas. John Morrison then pinned Hornswoggle to earn the victory for their team.

This match was officially made by the "Smackdown" general manager, Vickie Guerrero. The reason why she made this match official was to add more championship gold around the waist of her family. Edge is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and he is the fiancee of Vickie Guerrero, and now Vickie Guerrero wants her nephew, Chavo Guerrero, to hold the WWE United States Championship. Matt Hardy defeated Chavo Guerrero to retain the WWE United States Championship after he pinned Chavo Guerrero with the "Twist of Fate".

In Chavo Guerrero's corner was his bodyguard, Bam Neely. Bam Neely is a tough superstar, who wrestles on the "ECW" roster and is also occasionally on the "Smackdown" roster with Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, and Chavo Guerrero. Bam Neely got involved in the match and try to help Chavo Guerrero to win the WWE United States Championship, but it wasn't enough to keep Matt Hardy down for the count.

This match was scheduled to be between Kane and Big Show when Big Show won a Number One Contender Five Man Singapore Cane Match at "One Night Stand" 2008. On "ECW" a few nights prior to "Night of Champions" 2008, Mark Henry pinned Kane in a Non Title Singles Match and he was then added into the match to make it a Triple Threat Match for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship at "Night of Champions" 2008.

At "Night of Champions" 2008, it was Mark Henry having his hand held high after Mark Henry pinned Kane with the "World's Strongest Splash" to become the new ECW World Heavyweight Champion.

There is controversy going around by "TMZ" saying that Mark Henry only won the ECW World Heavyweight Championship because of the racial comments made by Michael Hayes to Mark Henry at a party during the week of "Wrestlemania 24".

Ted DiBiase was playing mind games with Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes, leading to their match at "Night of Champions" 2008. He was keeping his partner a surprise so they have no time to prepare for whomever he may be. At "Night of Champions" 2008, Ted DiBiase said that his partner is running a little late.

Then, he asked the referee if the match can wait for a few minutes, but the referee refused and said no. The match was then made into a Handicap Match between Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase.

Then, Hardcore Holly started out the match, but Cody Rhodes turned on his partner Hardcore Holly and was the mystery partner of Ted DiBiase. He hit Hardcore Holly with a "DDT" and tagged in Ted DiBiase. The match was still made a Handicap Match, but between Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes vs. Hardcore Holly. Ted DiBiase hit Hardcore Holly with the "Million Dollar Dream" to get the victory. Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes were then announced the new WWE World Tag Team Champions.

There was never any build up for the WWE Intercontinental Championship Match heading into the Pay Per View, but everyone knew the title would be on the line, but did not know whom would challenge for the title. Kofi Kingston was revealed as the mystery opponent for Chris Jericho and was also known as the underdog in the match. Shawn Michaels came to the ring and gave Lance Cade, whom was in Chris Jericho's corner, the "Sweet Chin Music". Shawn Michaels went on top of the apron, but Chris Jericho knocked him off of the apron and onto the concrete floor. Chris Jericho then turned around in the "Trouble in Paradise" and Kofi Kingston became the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.

After the match, Chris Jericho attacked Shawn Michaels for costing him his title and the match.

A night later on "Raw", it was a rematch between Chris Jericho and Kofi Kingston for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Kofi Kingston won via disqualification after the referee caught Chris Jericho grabbing a handful of Kofi Kingston's tights to get the upper advantage. Kofi Kingston was declared the winner via disqualification and retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Prior to "Night of Champions" 2008, Katie Lea Burchill owns three pinfall victories of Mickie James, two being in a Non Title Diva's Match and the other being in a Mixed Tag Team Match. At "Night of Champions" 2008, Mickie James defeated Katie Lea Burchill via pinfall after the "Feline DDT" to retain the WWE Women's Championship. On "Raw" a day after "Night of Champions" 2008, Katie Lea Burchill and her brother, Paul Burchill, were seen talking backstage and Katie Lea Burchill said that she'll be the new WWE Women's Champion and Paul Burchill said he'll make sure of it.

This rivalry started back in late 2007 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and it continued at "Night of Champions" 2008. Batista never pinned Edge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and he wanted to make sure that he did at "Night of Champions" 2008. Edge used every trick in the book and even Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Bam Neely, Zack Ryder, and Curt Hawkins got involved in the match. Edge hit the referee and Vickie Guerrero said that they need a new referee and it ended up being Chavo Guerrero. Edge hit Batista in the head with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Belt and pinned Batista for the victory to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

A day later on "Raw", Edge interrupted Jim Ross in his celebration in his hometown. Batista then attacked Edge and gave him a "Batista Bomb". CM Punk then cashed hin his Money in the Bank briefcase and gave Edge the "Go to Sleep". CM Punk then became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

It was being hyped that John Cena made Triple H tap out to the "STFU" at "Wrestlemania 22" and that Triple H could never beat John Cena. It was the main event of "Night of Champions" 2008 for the WWE Championship between Triple H and his opponent John Cena.

At "Night of Champions" 2008, it was Triple H defeating John Cena via pinfall after the "Pedigree" to retain the WWE Championship. John Cena left the ring and Triple H celebrated in the ring, with the fans cheering him on his victory.
