Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of the earliest broadcast television series had a single narrator as the "ghost" telling the story of how he was murdered. What was the name of the show?

Answer: The Television Ghost

"The Television Ghost" broadcast on W2XAB from 1931-33. Because it was just actor George Kelting in white makeup and cloth draped over his head, the show was also broadcast on the radio, on W2XE and WABC, both in New York.

The show was live, and no recordings were made. The show is believed to be the first dramatic television series.
2. In this 2009 stop motion animated film, a girl must rescue the souls of three ghost children from the Other Mother, who sewed buttons on to their eyes. What's the name of the film?

Answer: Coraline

The film was based on the 2002 book by Neil Gaiman. It is the story of a young girl named Coraline, who moves to a new house and finds a door that leads to another world, where her "Other Mother" wants her to stay. Which is not really a good idea.

The play is supposed to be performed with a minimum of props - two ladders represent the upper windows of neighboring houses, for example - and the character of the Stage Manager breaks the fourth wall to address the audience directly.
4. Deadman is a comic book hero... and a ghost. What is the name of his civilian identity (when he was alive, that is)?

Answer: Boston Brand

Deadman typically works against supernatural threats, sometimes alongside magic-using allies. Some stories have him use his powers to help
"regular" people.

While Deadman's appearance was initially the same as he was in life, dressed in his circus costume, starting in "Kingdom Come" (1996), he has been depicted as more skeletal, adding to the ghostly nature of the character.
