The largest craze in the '60s was "The Twist" and this debuted on the Dick Clark Show. Hank Ballard, who was born John Henry Kendricks, wrote "The Twist" and invented the dance. This was covered and brought to fame by Chubby Checker in 1960 when he performed it at the Rainbow Club in New Jersey.

"Doctor Who" is a British science fiction television series which was first aired in 1963 with William Hartnell playing the part of Doctor Who. His time machine was called a Tardis (T)ime (a)nd (R)elative (D)imension (i)n (S)pace, which was a blue police box.

At that time the blue police boxes was used by the British police to provide a telephone link directly to the main police station. Who knows where they got the idea to use it in the series?!

"Pepper" was the name of Tammy's little sister. The "Tammy Doll" was a short lived gimmmick which was discontinued in 1966.

The series ran for six seasons airing 166 episodes, with the last one aired on April 1st 1966. The show originally was going to be called the Flagstones, but in the last minute the name was changed by Hanna-Barbera.

"Funny Girl" the film premiered on the 18th of September 1968 at the Criterion Theatre in New York. Streisand won the Academy Award for Best Actress, and the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, it was the top grossing film of 1968.

The Spirograph was developed by Denys Fisher a British engineer in 1965. The toy that kept children entertained hours on end, was comprised of plastic circles and rings as well as different shapes with ridged edges that resembled gears. You could make some amazing unique designs by using coloured pens and tracing the inside of the plastic ridged shapes. It became so popular that it won the Educational Toy of the Year award for three years running from 1965 to 1967. Due to its popularity Spirograph designs started appearing in the world of fashion as well as in Op Art.
