...in their dark little house: "Let's some good action on feline theme park attractions." Said the mouse to the cat, as in the airplane they sat: "Forgive me, but I stealthily modified our trip to add the occasional rodent-based ride."

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As they in Tokyo touched down, the cat said, not without a slight frown: "At this 'Sanrio Puroland' place, we'll see lots of one cute feline face. A lot of pink, we will see there too, which feline is it - that I ask you?"

Answer: Hello Kitty

"Hello Kitty" is, especially outside Japan, probably the best known brand of the Sanrio company which produces several lines of merchandise aimed at the large "kawaii" audience ("kawaii" is best translated as "cute"). Sanrio Puroland is an indoor theme park completely revolving around the Sanrio characters.

At only eight rides and shows (as of late 2015), the park is a bit on the light side, attraction-wise, but makes up for it with character greetings and, of course, huge stores for all kinds of Sanrio merchandise.
2. "In California", said the mouse on the next day, "at Disneyland resort we shall continue our play. California Adventure's the name of the park and once it's evening and suitably dark, Mickey's face is so brightly lit up on the side of which kind of tall and beautiful ride?"

Answer: Ferris Wheel

Mickey's Fun Wheel, as the ride is called, is located in the Paradise Pier section of Disney California Adventure. It is an unusual type of Ferris wheel in that 16 of its 24 gondolas are not fixed to the rim but slide on a rail as the wheel rotates, resulting in a somewhat disorienting ride much wilder than that on a regular Ferris wheel.

The wheel was built in 2008 as a near replica of the historic Wonder Wheel at Coney Island.
3. From the West Coast right on to the East, the two stalwart travelers continued their feast of rides big and small, all with their thrill. "Now tell me", said cat, "if you will, Once we're at Busch Gardens at last, this coaster's named for which cat so fast?"

Answer: Cheetah

Cheetah Hunt was built in 2011 and is one of the prime attractions at the Busch Gardens theme park / zoo in Tampa Bay, Florida. It is part of most Orlando theme park aficionados' schedule, being owned by the SeaWorld group that operates a total of three parks in Orlando and provides free bus transfers from Orlando to the park and back.

The coaster itself is a triple-launched steel design with a single heartline roll as its only inversion and a top speed of 97 km/h (60 mph), matching a cheetah's top speed.

The signature element is in the background of the picture - a relatively slow and scenic figure eight atop a high tower.
4. "While we are in Tampa, we just as well might take in this beautiful rodent-themed ride," the mouse said as both of them took a closer and more detailed look at which type of coaster, known everywhere for its special tight turns flair?

Answer: Wild Mouse

The "Wild Mouse" was invented in 1957 by Mack Rides, a German manufacturer of amusement rides. The original design was a wooden coaster, but today's Wild Mouse rides are almost all made of steel. The characteristic element of this relatively slow coaster type is the "mouse turn" - a very tight, non-banked turn that, due to the narrow track and wide ride cars, gives the impression that the car could fall off the track.

The classic Wild Mouse type has only these turns and some bunny hops (short, usually straight drops and ascents), but many variations of the concept including spinning coasters exist.
5. No theme park trip would just be complete if not in Orlando some thrills you did meet. At Universal's it isn't a ruse: An entire area based on just Doctor Seuss. When our two friends rode "The Cat in the Hat" In which kind of conveyance they sat?

Answer: A couch

The "Seuss Landing" theme area of Universal Islands of Adventure is mostly geared towards smaller children with all its rides being based on Seuss' stories. "The Cat in the Hat" is a dark ride retelling the original "Cat in the Hat" story through relatively simple animatronics.

The ride vehicle is a two-row blue and red couch, fitting the theme of riding through a house. The other rides at Seuss Landing are a carousel, an elevated tour and a spinning "One Fish, Two Fish" ride with fish-shaped gondolas whose altitude is rider-controlled.

The area also features an open air stage show and a playground.
6. "A classic coaster just is not as good if it is not made all out of wood", the cat said and booked the next flight our two friends would quickly alight to ride the "Wildcat", found at which park, well known for chocolate so rich and so dark?

Answer: Hersheypark

"The Wild Cat" was the name of Hersheypark's first rollercoaster back in 1923 when the park was mainly a recreational offering for the employees of Hershey's chocolate factory and the town of Hershey. It closed and was replaced with a new structure called the Comet after a fatal accident in 1945. When the park added a second (overall third) wooden coaster in 1996, the traditional "The Wildcat" name was reused (minus the space), but the "the" was quickly dropped from the name.

Wildcat is a traditional wooden rollercoaster design with a short downhill segment before the single chain lift and curved first drop.
7. "On the topic of coasters and cats, we'll just take a hop and then let's ride Clementon's 'Hell Cat' for a while," said the cat with a wide impish smile. Now tell me just before it's too late, that coaster is in which Garden State?

Answer: New Jersey

While not particularly large or famous, Clementon Amusement Park is one of the oldest continuously operated amusement parks in the United States, having celebrated its centenary in 2007. The park includes both a traditional theme park and a water park.

The Hellcat - with a logo featuring a World War II style plane having a fierce cat's face instead of a propeller - was built and opened in 2005 under the name Tsunami but faced various operational issues in its first years. It is a hybrid construction with a wooden track on steel supports - a coaster type becoming more common these days because it provides the ride feeling of a wooden coaster at a lower construction and maintenance cost and allows for elements a pure wooden coaster could not support, in particular some simple inversions (loopings or corkscrews).
8. Said the mouse to the cat: "It's time to meet my cousin, the rat. The film 'Ratatouille' you certainly know but there's also a ride as I'll show. We'll visit the first Disney park to get that ride - so where should we now head?"

Answer: Parc Disneyland Paris

The full name of the ride is "Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy" and, given that the movie takes place in France, it is not too surprising that the ride also debuted in France. It was announced in 2013 and opened in June 2014. The ride uses a trackless configuration in which the vehicles are controlled through a computer but move autonomously.

This way, no two rides are exactly the same and vehicles can react to each other, dynamically crossing paths and synchronizing their movement with the ride music.
9. "If you're tired of Mickey, I understand, that's just fine We're going to meet another brother of mine. He works for a German park, since 'seventy-five, and forty years later, he's very alive. There's shows, rides and coasters to spare," said the mouse and the duo went where?

Answer: Europa Park, Rust

Opened in 1975 by Franz Mack and his sons (the same Mack family that is behind Mack Rides), Europa Park is the second most popular theme park destination in all of Europe behind Disneyland Paris. Many of Mack Rides' inventions debuted in Europa Park before having been installed in other parks or developed into traveling versions.

At over 60 rides and more than a dozen shows, the park is one of the largest single-park (not split into multiple parks) resorts in the world. Europa Park has a huge number of rollercoasters - eight "proper" coasters, two water coasters, one powered coaster and one combination of powered coaster and dark ride - but also prides itself of making all its attractions, even the most thrilling ones, quite friendly to families and elderly visitors, avoiding excessive forces while still delivering exciting ride experiences.
10. "I know you're hungry, but one final stop, we'll have sweet cakes galore at that shop. At Phantasialand, you can eat yourself fat in a ride they call 'Maus au Chocolat'." Said the mouse and they took a short drive to German town Brühl. When they did arrive, they each got a ticket, went straight inside to a fun place just like which Disney ride?

Answer: Toy Story Midway Mania

"Maus au Chocolat" - a pun featuring the German word for mouse and the dessert "mousse au chocolat" - is an interactive shooter ride featuring 3-D projected scenes. Its theme is a cake factory in 1920s Berlin which is overrun by mice and that's where the rider / player comes in to deal with them, using a gun that shoots blobs of icing. Each ride vehicle seats 12 passengers in three gondolas that feature back-to-back seats.

The gondolas spin as the vehicle proceeds from scene to scene. Unlike many of these hybrid ride/games, "Maus au Chocolat" refrains from awarding the rider a more or less prestigious title based on score at the end - everyone walks away a winner!
