Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which federation signed Akio, aka Jimmy Yang, in 1999?

Answer: World Championship Wrestling

Yang was signed to WCW, and spent some time working in the Power Plant before being called up to the main roster.
2. Which stable did Yang join upon his call up to WCW?

Answer: Jung Dragons

The Jung Dragons consisted of Jamie-san (Jamie Noble), Yang, and Kaz Hayashi. Their gimmick was a trio of Japanese ninja-like fighters.
3. Which stable did the Jung Dragons have a long feud with in World Championship Wrestling?

Answer: Three Count

Three Count, consisting of Shane Helms, Shannon Moore and Evan Karagias, had a lot of matches with the Dragons. Eventually, Noble and Karaigas left the two groups, and formed a team of their own.
4. Who did Yang and Kaz Hayashi defeat at "Sin" 2001?

Answer: Jamie Noble and Evan Karagias

This match was Yang's last Pay Per View appearance for WCW, as Vince McMahon bought out the company not long afterwards.
5. World Wrestling Entertainment bought out Yang's contract when they bought out World Championship Wrestling, but released him again when they had no plans for him. Which Japanese federation did Yang sign with?

Answer: All Japan Pro Wrestling

Yang headed to AJPW, where probably his highest honour was winning the AJPW Real World Junior Heavyweight Tag Team League with Kaz Hayashi in September 2002.
6. Yang was back in the USA for the first ever show of NWA-TNA. He teamed with Jorge Estrada and Sonny Siaki to defeat Jerry Lynn, A.J. Styles and Low-Ki. What was the team called?

Answer: The Flying Elvises

Yes, they all had the gimmick of being high-flying Elvis impersonaters. TNA really did start off as they meant to continue.
7. Yang was asked to perform on the World Wrestling Entertainment's "Sunday Night Heat" in 2003, and after an impressive match, was given a full-time contract. Who was the match against?

Answer: Tommy Dreamer

Yang gave a brilliant performance, no doubt helped by the experienced professional Dreamer. One of the high spots of the match was Akio's brilliant delayed sell on the Dreamer DDT at the end.
8. At which Pay Per View in 2003 did Yang debut as 'Akio', an associate/henchman of Tajiri's?

Answer: No Mercy

Yang, re-dubbed as 'Akio', ran in with Ryan Sakoda to help Tajiri get the pinfall victory over Rey Mysterio Jr., and defend his Cruiserweight title.
9. What was the name given, as the stable for Tajiri, Akio and Sakoda?

Answer: Kyo Dai

They were originally going to be called the Yakuza, which is the true name of the Japanese mafia. All three of the stablemates were concerned about possible repercussions from the REAL Yakuza for using their name, and asked for the name to be changed.
10. Akio was scheduled to take part in the Cruiserweight Open at "WrestleMania XX", but why was he NOT involved, despite being at ringside?

Answer: Accidentally blinded by Tajiri's mist

Since Tajiri was traded to "RAW" (for reasons completely unknown), and Sakoda was released, Akio's been floundering around making occasional appearances, such as getting a Cruiserweight Title shot against Funaki on "SmackDown" not long ago. If given the right treatment, Akio could be a big cruiserweight star, but he won't be, so don't expect it.
