Andre the Giant, in the end won the match, last eliminating Bret Hart. William Perry made an impressive showing, thrown over the top rope by Big John Studd, and then extended his hand for Studd to shake it, Big John took it and Perry dragged Studd over the top rope to the floor.

A Boxing Match between Mr. T and Roddy Piper was the New York main event. The first ever Ladder Match took place 8 years later at "WrestleMania X".

There were two tag team matches in the night; the first, a World Tag Team Championship Match between The British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith and the Dynamite Kid) against The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine), and the second, The Funk Brothers (Terry and Hoss) went up against the Junkyard Dog and Tito Santana.
