1. A spider changed this New York high school student's life. Where in New York City did Peter Parker get the spider bite that changed him into the hero known as Spider-man?

Answer: a science fair

Peter Parker was visiting a science exhibit when a radioactive spider bit him. Soon after Peter began to realize he had spider-like strength and the ability to stick to walls. As a science wiz he designed his own wrist mounted barrels that shot out spider webs. Peter Parker did not become an active crime fighter though until the day he saw, but did not stop, a robber. The robber shot his Uncle Ben, his adoptive father. Parker donned the mask of Spider-man and sought out his father's killer. He learned "with great power, comes great responsibility."

In human form, Peter Parker is a newspaper photographer. It becomes his cover because he also takes pictures and publishes pictures of Spiderman for the newspaper he works for. Spiderman lives at 175th Ave, and faithfully watches New York with his spider senses, swinging from webs to skyscrapers and buildings.

His captors forced him to created a weapon of mass destruction. In captivity, Stark developed and iron heart and suit to keep himself alive. He used it to escape and later used the suit to protect the world as Iron Man.

When he's not fighting villains, Tony Stark lives on 59th Street and Broadway. He is one of New York's youngest billionaires.

Although he lost his eyesight, the radio active substance boosted his other senses beyond normal human capability. Murdock's father was a boxer and supported him. When his father was murdered for refusing to throw a boxing match, Murdock donned his yellow and red costume that was made from his father's boxing uniform. The costume gave birth to the "Daredevil" and he sought out revenge. Daredevil's most well known enemies became the Kingpin and Bullseye.

In daylight hours, Matt Murdock fights crime in a different form. He is one of New York's brightest attorneys with a high knowledge of the law. He also is a master interrogator and detective.

Like the hero Daredevil, Nick grew up in the New York neighborhood known as Hell's Kitchen. He became a boxer and a fighter. During World War II, he was a solider in the United States Army that fought in many specialized missions. In a shrapnel injury, he lost sight in one eye and started wearing an eye patch that became his most notable characteristic among the line up of other superheroes. He became a super spy for the CIA, and later the government spokesperson for S.H.I.E.L.D, which organized superheroes to fight world crisis. He became the link between superheroes and governments, when government aid was needed to fight danger.

Author Stan Lee was inspired to create Dr. Strange based on a popular 1930's radio program, "Chandu the Magician" radio that aired on the Mutual Broadcasting System.

His hands were too damaged to continue being a surgeon, and Strange searched for a way to restore them. He ended up homeless and doing odd jobs for cash. When he was at his lowest point, Strange found a hermit known as the "Ancient One", and at first the man was reluctant to teach him magic. However after Strange saved his life, the Ancient One taught him the mystic arts he used to become a superhero. After the Ancient One passed away, Dr. Strange took his rank and title as "Sorcerer Supreme".

After they rescued him, Captain America joined their forces and became one of the group's founding members.

The Avengers grew with many more superhero members. United, they took on many super villains, but also had division with each other's personalities and weaknesses.

She-Hulk was a member of several superhero teams that include the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, Fantastic Force, and S.H.I.E.L.D.

She was very athletic and skilled in martial arts. She was also very skillful with a handgun. Blonde Phantom disappeared for awhile, when Louise decided to marry her boss. She had a happy marriage and two kids. After her husband's death she became a lawyer's secretary in New York and helped train and mentor the She-Hulk, who in human form, worked for the same office.

Answer: Luke Cage

Luke Cage was one of Marvel's first African American heroes. His story begins as Carl Lucas, a youth in a gang. However he was imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. He was betrayed by a friend and framed for drug possession. When he was arrested he was abandoned by his family and his friends.

In prison, he volunteered to be a science experiment in exchange for a lesser sentence. Dr. Noah Burstein wanted to use Lucas to experiment on creating super solders. During the experiment, the doctor left Lucas unattended and the prison guard tried to kill Lucas by altering the controls. Instead of killing Lucas it gave him steel-hard skin and heavier, enhanced muscle. Lucas escaped and returned to the streets of New York.

Lucas started out as a detective and hero for hire. He changed his name to Luke Cage and created a costume. However when he was confronted by his old friend who betrayed him, Cage realized how much New York needed a hero.

He lives at 42nd Street in New York City.
