Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who cost Bob Backlund his WWF Championship match against The Iron Sheik back in 1984?

Answer: Arnold Skaaland

Skaaland, who was Backlund's manager at the time, threw in the towel as The Sheik locked him in the 'Camel Clutch'. As Backlund was carrying a neck injury at the time, Skaaland felt it was the best option to take. Almost ten years later, Backlund would win back the title in similar circumstances against Bret 'Hitman' Hart.
2. Which future member of the Million Dollar Corporation was the first man to challenge for the WWF Championship at 'Wrestlemania'?

Answer: King Kong Bundy

King Kong Bundy took on WWF Champion Hulk Hogan at 'Wrestlemania 2' in a Steel Cage Match, which Hogan won. The Hulkster would go on to feature in the main event of the next seven 'Wrestlemania's', as well as at 'Wrestlemania X8'.
3. Which two men were ultimately to blame for the WWF Championship being declared vacant shortly before 'Wrestlemania IV'?

Answer: Andre The Giant and Ted DiBiase

Shortly before 'Wrestlemania IV', Andre The Giant defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship in a controversial encounter. 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase paid off Andre and claimed the belt as his own, although WWF President Jack Tunney did not allow this title change to stand, and immediately declared the title vacant.

At 'Wrestlemania IV', Randy Savage won the gold by defeating DiBiase in a tournament final.
4. Who did 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair eliminate last to win the 1992 'Royal Rumble', and consequently the WWF Championship?

Answer: Sid Justice

The '92 'Rumble' came down to three men - Flair, Hogan, and Justice. As Hogan was about to dump Flair over the top rope, Sid blindsided The Hulkster and eliminated him. Outraged by this sneak attack, Hogan grabbed Justice by the hand and pulled him over the top rope, leaving Flair as the champion.
5. The two Hart brothers, Bret and Owen, split up at the 1994 'Royal Rumble'. Against which tag team did they wrestle?

Answer: The Quebecers

The Harts took on the Quebecers for the Tag Team Championship at 'Royal Rumble' 1994. During the match, Bret injured his knee but still refused to tag in Owen when he had the chance. Eventually, the referee stopped the match and the Quebecers kept hold of the belts. Outraged at this, Owen attacked his brother after the match and a legendary rivalry began.
6. Which famous manager controlled such wrestlers as The Hart Foundation, Earthquake and The Mountie?

Answer: 'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart

'The Mouth of the South' Jimmy Hart was one of the most famous managers of all time, back when they were primarily male. Being a heel for most of his career, he turned face and managed The Megamaniacs (Hulk Hogan and Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake at 'Wrestlemania IX').
7. Who was the first man to give a one-finger salute on WWF television?

Answer: Diesel

Diesel (Kevin Nash) first gave the finger when he took on Bret 'Hitman' Hart at 'Survivor Series' 1995. Stone Cold Steve Austin made this action famous during the 'Attitude' era.
8. Who was the original leader of the Nation of Domination?

Answer: Faarooq

Faarooq Asad was the original leader of the Nation, which went on to include superstars such as D'Lo Brown, Rocky Maivia and Kama Mustafa, the man who is now known as the Godfather.
9. Who was Kane's first ever opponent in the WWF?

Answer: Mankind

Kane took on Mankind at the 1997 'Survivor Series', due to the fact that his brother, The Undertaker, refused to fight his own flesh and blood.
10. Who was the original leader of D-Generation-X?

Answer: Shawn Michaels

The Heartbreak Kid was the original leader of the group, who were set up to counter the effect that the nWo were having on WCW's ratings. DX would reform twice more, with Triple H being the leader.
