Shoot is often used to describe an unscripted move or comment made by wrestlers. For example, fan interference or legitimate in-ring injuries may prompt a shoot. Some famous shoots include the infamous "Montreal Screw-Job" and the legitimate fight between the WWE's John Bradshaw Layfield and ECW's Blue Meanie.

Blading involves the wrestler concealing a razor either on himself or at a hidden area near the ring. The wrestler would "blade" his forehead with a small cut. The sweat on him would then help enhance the illusion of severe bleeding.

A botched move is when a wrestler improperly performs a certain maneuver. For example, tripping off the top rope or dropping an opponent in an awkward manner. Professional wrestlers often rehearse matches ahead of time to prevent botches, as they can often lead to serious injury.
