Located in southeastern Siberia, Russia, Lake Baikal is considered the oldest, and deepest freshwater lake in the world. Lake Baikal is more than 5,000 feet deep (1637m), and is home to many unique aquatic animals that thrive in the icy, oxygen rich waters of this lake.
