My name is Mary. I was afraid when an angel appeared, but he told me he had good news! He told me, "Don't be afraid, Mary; God has shown you his grace. Listen! You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High." He told me I was going to have a baby but I didn't know how this would happen because I wasn't married yet.

He told me it would all be done with God's spirit. The angel told me my son would be holy and would save our people. I rejoiced! (Luke 1:26-56, NIV)

Answer: Joseph

My name is Joseph. At first I was very worried when I found out my wife-to-be was expecting a baby. I didn't know what I was going to do. However in my sleep, an angel appeared to me and gave me the news that the child was of God. He told me, "Joseph do not be afraid. Mary will have a son and you shall call His name Jesus.

He will save His people from their sins" I was comforted by the angel's words. It wasn't easy. I had to provide for Mary and the baby. As a father, I sat back in amazement when Jesus was born. Wise men, shepherds, and angels, all came to worship him. (Matthew 1, NIV)

Answer: John the Baptist

I am John the Baptist. I told people, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" I told them how the Messiah would come and they needed to be ready. Prophets had said He would be a great king! Not everyone believed me, but those that did were baptized in water. I told them the One coming was mightier than I.

Then one day he came. The Messiah came and asked me to baptize him. When I did, God introduced my visitor, and said, "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased."(Matthew 3, NIV)

My name is Peter! My brother and I were fishing all night but had no luck before Jesus came. We were casting our nets for more fish when Jesus came by. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." Something about Jesus made us leave all we had and we followed him. James and John were two other fisherman that came with us. Before it was over, Jesus had twelve men following him, known as disciples.

I am Zaccheaus. Everywhere Jesus went, He changed lives! Crowds of people followed him, just to see what would happen. I was a tax collector and many people hated me because I was dishonest. However when Jesus passed through town, I went to see what all the excitement was about. I was short so I climbed a tree to see. Jesus looked up at me and smiled when he saw me.

He told me, "Come down! For I am going to your house today!". I was so excited! Jesus and his disciples ate with me. Afterwards I told Jesus I was going to change my life around and gave all the money I had stolen from people back, plus more! (Luke 19:1-10, NIV)

Answer: Lazarus

I am Lazarus. When I got very sick, my sisters told Jesus to come right away! I was one of Jesus' closest friends. However, Jesus was healing people and only came three days later. By then I was dead and my sisters were very sad. My sister told Jesus, if He had been there sooner I wouldn't have died. Jesus cried.

Then he turned to the tomb where I was and had men roll away the stone. "Lazarus, come here!," He said. I came out alive and well. Jesus had them take my grave clothes off so I wouldn't look like a mummy. People were amazed and my sisters were no longer sad.(John 11:38-44,NIV)

Answer: Mary, sister of Lazarus

I am Mary, the sister of Lazarus. Jesus told his disciples he would be leaving soon, but they did not understand. I did. I knew Jesus was going to die. I took a very expensive box of perfume and poured it on him. Then I wiped it up with my hair and worshiped him. I cried. Jesus had done so many things that changed people's lives, I wanted to thank Him.

The disciples tried to pull me away, but Jesus told them to leave me alone. He was pleased. (John 12, NIV)

Answer: Pontius Pilate

I am Pontius Pilate. The Jewish leaders hated Jesus and brought him to me saying, "Crucify Him! He thinks He's a king and said He would destroy our temple!". I was upset because I knew Jesus was a good man. I thought maybe if I released another prisoner who was a murderer and a thief, they would let Jesus go.

However they shouted even harder, "Crucify him!". Finally I gave in. I washed my hands and told them I was innocent of this man's death. However my wife and I had nightmares over what was done. (Matthew 27, NIV)

Two of us were crucified with Jesus when he died. However we were thieves and deserved our punishment. I knew Jesus had done nothing wrong. The other thief made fun of Jesus and tried to get him to save himself. However Jesus did nothing. Before he died, I cried out to him and said, "Remember me!". Jesus looked up and told me I would be with him in paradise. (Luke 23:32-43,NIV)

Jesus died so that people would not have to suffer with the effects of sin. He gave His life so that others would have eternal life.

Jesus was my son. I wept when He was mistreated and crucified. I made thunder and earthquakes happen to get people's attention when He died. However, I knew that this had to happen for many others to be saved. Someday, the ones who believe will get to be in Heaven with Me.
