There are a large number of blackbirds, with up to 55 million pairs living in Europe alone. Their Latin name is Turdus merula.
6. A skin condition.

Answer: Blackhead

A blackhead is a dark spot on your skin, normally caused by clogged hair follicles. Many teenagers get them because they tend to get oily skin as they go through puberty. Scrubbing the area with water will only make your skin dry, so it is best to use a special cleanser bought from a pharmacy.
7. Conceal the lights from.

8. A garden plant pest.

Answer: Blackfly

A blackfly is an aphid, or a sap-sucking insect which can cause the plant to wilt and die. They are similar to greenflies and whiteflies. If plants are infected, many gardeners use a chemical control, but they prefer to control blackfly naturally by encouraging more of their enemies into their garden. These include ladybirds.
9. Prevent someone from joining a group.

Answer: Blackball

If a child is expelled from school, they are technically blackballed from attending. This is when a group of superiors or organisers have decided to remove somebody from a social group because of their previous actions. An example in a sentence would be, "The child was blackballed from the group because he was a trouble maker".
10. A person who forges metal.
