Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Why did Jalil and the others leave Olympus?

Answer: They left to find Senna's mother

The Coo-Hatch lent their weapons to Ka-Anor and the Hetwan, but they did not support the alien god. They simply wanted out of Everworld. Senna revealed that her mother had the power to open a gateway to the Coo-Hatch world. Sending the Coo-Hatch aliens back would help the gods of Olympus in their fight against the Hetwan. So Jalil, April, Christopher, David, and Senna, along with a group of Coo-Hatch, left Olympus to find a witch.
2. Who saved Jalil and his friends from the spider-demons?

Answer: The Coo-Hatch

Eshu sent a horde of horrific spider-demons to threaten the kids. They were each tied to a large tree branch by the demons' long tongues. While Jalil was gasping for breath, he noticed a boomerang flying past. He realized the Coo-Hatch were still there, and they were protecting their investment.
3. What did David help the Coo-Hatch with?

Answer: Their cannon

David admitted that he and his friends owed a debt to the Coo-Hatch. So when everyone was asleep, he and Jalil approached their camp. For hours, the two boys helped the Coo-Hatch make major improvements to their original design, which killed whoever shot it off. David, an amateur sailor, was especially helpful.
4. What type of blood did witches have?

Answer: Toxic blood

Thorolf explained that witches had toxic blood. It was after Jalil noticed the grass die below Senna's feet that he mentioned it to the Viking. David and Jalil used this knowledge to threaten the gods. They placed an unconscious Senna at the gods' tree and threatened to spill her blood onto its precious roots.
5. What did Eshu keep warning the kids about?

Answer: Making sacrifices to the gods

Originally Eshu offered to guide them deeper into the African-like part of Everworld. He continuously told them they had to make a sacrifice to appease the gods of the area. Eshu himself was a minor god. He called himself a messenger.
6. What form did Eshu not appear in?

Answer: A young boy

Eshu kept changing his appearance. He originally came to Jalil and the others as a skinny old man with tall, gray hair. After they made him leave, they found a little girl who called herself Elegbara. When she spoke a bit too much like an adult, Jalil realized it was actually Eshu. When he got angry, he became a stronger, younger man.
7. What vision did Eshu trick Jalil with?

Answer: A herd of lions eating him

Jalil was upset with Eshu because he didn't want to bend to the beliefs of the gods. He defied the gods and Eshu sent him a warning in the form of a large group of lions devouring him. Using logic, he was able to fight past the illusion. April too was warned- Eshu pretended to make the sun burn her badly.
8. Who killed the African tribe leader?

Answer: Jalil

Just when the African tribe members were about to kill everyone, Thorolf and his Viking friends came to the rescue. Senna used her magic to change the course of a river that flowed nearby. She swept the tribesmen away, but not all of them. She suffered a slight wound to her leg. Jalil noticed the African chief aiming at her and, without even consciously thinking about it, let his own spear fly.

It was aimed very well and hit the chief dead-on.
9. Why didn't Jalil meet Miyuki for their study date?

Answer: He saved Christopher

Jalil was determined to show up on time for his date with Miyuki. Her father was strict and he wanted to make a good impression. However, he noticed two men following Christopher. He followed them, abandoning his date, and saw Christopher being beaten with a bat. Jalil showed up just in time to save his friend.
10. How did Jalil trick the man who was about to shoot him?

Answer: He told him he had his license plate number

Keith, the man who was hurting Christopher, pulled out a gun, called Jalil a name, and threatened to shoot him. Jalil bluffed and said that he had Keith's license plate number and had called his answering machine at home to remember it, in case anything happened.

He also pointed out that it was early in the evening and people would hear gunshots. Jalil managed to fool Keith and save Christopher.
