Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who did David and the others notice was following them in the beginning of the story?

Answer: Merlin

At the end of book nine, "Inside the Illusion," chaos reigned and Merlin was nowhere to be found. David took some of the treasure left over from the temple of Isis and paid a Greek sailor to take everyone back to Olympus. However, David noticed a ship coming right at them, propelled by a magic wind. David knew that it could only have been Merlin.
2. What mythical figure did the kids finally meet?

Answer: Mermaids

In previous adventures, David and the others had seen unicorns, leprechauns, dragons, nymphs, and many other creatures. They had never seen a mermaid. When Neptune, Roman god of the sea, pulled them down into his city, mermaids were one of the first things the kids noticed. They were all gorgeous and moved gracefully in the water.
3. Who seemed most afraid of the water?

Answer: David

Surprisingly, it was David who was most afraid of the water. It was shocking to the others because David was an amateur sailor. Jalil bravely stepped into Neptune's odd world, and informed the others that he could still breathe. When the time came for the kids to step into the water, he was hesitant. April tried to guide David in, but he refused her help.
4. The mysterious woman David encountered earlier in the series finally revealed her identity. Who was she?

Answer: The Daghdha's daughter

The mysterious woman shifted into her natural look: a beautiful red-headed woman who looked, oddly enough, very similar to April. Her name was Brigid. She told David that she was the daughter of the Irish god called the Daghdha. Brigid was a kind woman, once a god, who was stuck in the real world.
5. What was the woman trying to get David to do?

Answer: Close the gateway

Brigid explained to David that she knew of a female that would be born with the power to open a door to Everworld. That girl, of course, was Senna. She practically begged David to stop Senna, even if that meant killing her. Brigid also said that Merlin was a wise man, and he should trust the wizard.
6. How did Neptune compare with other gods the kids encountered?

Answer: He was crazier

Neptune acted like a spoiled child. He killed his servants on a whim using his large array of tridents. Not only did he murder people easily, he laughed and delighted in his own acts of violence. He was an insane, psychotic god.
7. Who saved David from getting killed for his careless words?

Answer: April

Before David knew exactly what he was saying, he told Neptune that he was working for Athena in Olympus. Neptune, a Roman god, grew instantly furious and was about to kill David. He hated Athena, the Greek goddess. April came to the rescue, laughing loudly. She explained to Neptune that David was only kidding.
8. How did David entertain Neptune?

Answer: He pretended to be a wizard

David spotted Merlin walking away with Senna, who was under a spell. So when Neptune demanded that David perform for him, he claimed to be an all-powerful magician. He pointed to Merlin, who posed as a young Greek sailor, and claimed he could turn him into an old man. Neptune commanded the sailor to be killed.

When David pulled out his sword, Merlin enchanted it and Neptune was treated to a comedy show as David struggled to maintain control.
9. What set Monsieur LeMieux apart from the other humans in Everworld?

Answer: He was from the real world

Aside from Senna's mother and the kids, Monsieur LeMieux was the only real-world person in Everworld. He explained that when he was a young spy in the 1960s, he was sailing and was sucked down into the ocean. When he arrived, he became a politician of sorts and took control of the city of Atlantis.
10. David learned of an important item that had the power to change the existence of Everworld. What was it?

Answer: A scroll

The item was called The Great Scroll of the Gods. LeMieux explained to David and the others that it had the power to change anything created by the gods. Jalil was ecstatic because he had finally found the "software" of Everworld he'd been searching for.

However, LeMieux also mentioned that it was hidden from every inhabitant in Everworld, even the gods, to prevent anyone from using for their own selfish needs. David suspected that Brigid might be the one holding the powerful scroll.
