Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who said the following? "Farewell, Daughter of Eve. Perhaps I may keep the handkerchief?"

Answer: Mr. Tumnus

This question was given to to Lucy Pevensie when she was leaving Tumnus and returning to the wardrobe. Lucy did allow Tumnus to keep the handkerchief. Before Tumnus was arrested and turned into stone, he gave the handkerchief to Mr. Beaver, who then showed it to Lucy when she returned as proof that he could be trusted.
2. Who said the following to the four Pevensie children? "They say Aslan is on the move--perhaps has already landed."

Answer: Mr. Beaver

Mr. Beaver explained to the children that Aslan was the great lion, who had not been to Narnia for more than one hundred years. He explained also that the White Witch was in power, and had made it winter for a hundred years. But now Aslan was coming, and he could break the Witch's spell and drive her from Narnia.
3. Who said the following? "I've found them. Here are the Sons and Daughters of Adam and Eve."

Answer: Mr. Beaver

Mr. Beaver said this to his wife, Mrs. Beaver. The two welcomed the four Pevensies into their home, where they explained more about Aslan and Narnia. The Pevensies were also fed a meal of bread, fish, and potatoes.
4. Who said the following? "This is no thaw. This is spring. What are we to do? Your winter has been destroyed, I tell you. This is Aslan's doing!"

Answer: The Dwarf

The dwarf, whose name is not mentioned in the book, was speaking to The White Witch as they travelled along in pursuit of Peter, Susan, and Lucy. Edmund was already the Witch's captive. All around them, the snow was melting, trees were budding, and the water in the creeks was beginning to flow. This was because Aslan was in Narnia and was destroying the Witch's power.
5. Who said the following of Edmund? "He has tried to betray them and joined the White Witch, oh Aslan."

Answer: Mr. Beaver

Mr. Beaver spoke this in reply to Aslan's question, "Where is the fourth?" Peter spoke up and told Aslan that it was his fault that Edmund had left, because Peter had been angry with Edmund.
6. Who said the following? "Ladies, take these Daughters of Eve to the pavilion and minister to them."

Answer: Aslan

Susan and Lucy were taken away to be cleaned and given proper Narnian clothing. It was while they were gone that a wolf threatened to attack them. Peter came to their rescue and killed the wolf before it had attacked either girl. After this brave deed, Aslan knighted Peter.
7. Who said the following? "I wonder could we untie him as well?"

Answer: Susan

Susan and Lucy were lying next to Aslan's body after the Witch had killed him. He was tied up with ropes. The girls endeavored to free him, but he was bound so tightly they could not. Then some field mice came along and gnawed the cords in half, and the girls pulled them off.
8. Who said the following to the Pevensie girls? "You had better put your fingers in your ears."

Answer: Aslan

Aslan had just arisen from the dead, and the girls ran through the meadow, playing with him. Aslan uttered this advice and then let out a tremendous roar that bent the trees before him!
9. Who said the following to Susan and Lucy? "Once the feet are put right, all the rest of him will follow."

Answer: Aslan

Aslan went through the witch's castle and breathed on the figures she had turned into stone. As he did so, the color began to come into them, working its way along the bodies, until they were completely revived. Aslan made this statement to the girls after he had breathed on the feet of a stone giant.
10. Who said the following? "Blowed if I ain't in a muck sweat."

Answer: Giant Rumblebuffin

Aslan had breathed life into the giant, who then did everyone a favor by banging down the gate to the witch's castle. It was harder for him than such things had been before he was turned into stone. He followed this statement by saying, "Comes of being out of condition."
