Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Picture This", Phineas and Ferb built a machine that could scan a photograph and transport that item directly to the machine's platform. The reason they built the machine was to find Ferb's lost skateboard, which was in whose possession?

Answer: Grandpa Fletcher

First, the boys literally turned their garage upside-down to look for the skateboard. Finally, their dad showed them a picture from their grandpa's blog, where he was riding on a skateboard with the Union Jack on the bottom of it.
2. At one point in the episode, we see Linda Flynn-Fletcher (Candace's mom) playing with something that is a cross between a Jewish children's toy and a Latin percussion instrument. What could it possibly be?

Answer: Dreidel-racas

A dreidel is a four-sided spinning top that is popular in Jewish families around Hanukkah. The game is a form of gambling, usually played with chocolate gelt (chocolate coins) instead of real money. Maracas, although not technically of Mexican origin, are used throughout Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, to add a unique sound to Latin music.
3. Before trying to transport the skateboard, the boys tested the machine by taking a picture of Buford with an apple on his head. They did transport the apple (and part of Buford's hair), but what eventually happened to it?

Answer: Perry ate it

Perry walked by and scooped up the apple right off of Buford's partial flat top. In the next test, the boys tried to transport Buford, but that's when it accidentally morphed Buford with a fly. Phineas reprogrammed the machine with the fly filter engaged and was able to fix Buford, although Buford did say he was in the mood to eat something stinky.
4. After transporting the skateboard to the machine, they realized they also accidentally transported the feet of the person who was riding it. What did the rider's female companion say after the rider's feet went missing?

Answer: "I can breathe again!"

Grandma Fletcher looked down and Grandpa's missing feet, took her nose plugs out, and made the above remark. When the boys transported Grandpa's feet back to him, they reattached themselves backwards. Grandpa then got up and started walking around backwards and said, "I've always wanted to see where I've been."
5. Using a giant slingshot, Phineas launched himself, Isabella, Baljeet, and Buford up into the air. While "flying" through the air, Buford raised his arms and said which of the following before Ferb brought them all back to solid ground with the transporter?

Answer: "I'm drying my pits!"

Phineas said the line about the clouds, followed by Isabella talking about the ozone. While Buford did talk about some things being lame, particularly when the boys super-charged some old kiddie rides in another episode, he did not reference their adventures in "Picture This" as being lame.
6. When Candace showed up at the Mexican-Jewish Cultural Festival, she talked with Vivian Garcia-Shapiro (Isabella's mom). What kind of cross-culture comfort food did Vivian offer to Candace?

Answer: matzah burrito

Matzah is a cracker-like bread and is typically used as a substitute for leavened bread during the Jewish holiday of Passover. A burrito is a type of Mexican food using a flour tortilla wrapped around a filling usually consisting of meat, beans, and vegetables.
7. Another Mexican-Jewish cultural blend from "Picture This" was the word "bubelita", or a mixture of "bubeleh" and "señorita". What do these two words mean?

Answer: sweetheart and miss

Bubeleh is typically used by Jewish grandmothers/mothers to reference their precious grandchildren/children. Señorita is the Spanish word for an unmarried woman.
8. During the song Linda and Vivian sang at the Mexican-Jewish festival were a few phrases that blended Mexican and Jewish cultures. One such phrase talked about dancing with bottles on their heads, but instead of singing "heads" they used the Spanish word for "heads." What is it?

Answer: cabezas

The bottle dance is a traditional Jewish dance usually performed at celebrations like weddings or bar/bat mitzvahs. The Spanish words in the answer choices mean the following: cabezas = heads, manos = hands, zapatos = shoes, and madres = mothers.
9. Another line for the song sung at the Mexican-Jewish festival absurdly referenced putting a pupik (Yiddish for "belly button") into what festive papier-mâché container traditionally filled with candy and trinkets?

Answer: piñata

I'm not exactly sure how one would put a belly button into a piñata, but there are many things in "Phineas and Ferb" that are rather far-fetched, so what do you expect? One of the other choices, tamale, is a Latin dish made with masa (a corn-based dough), meats, vegetables, and spices wrapped in a corn husk or banana leaf, then steamed.

While tamales are a wonderfully delicious holiday treat, they are hardly made of paper or filled with candy.
10. Which of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's inventions did Perry bring to the Flynn-Fletchers' backyard by using the boys' photo teleporter, thereby foiling Doof's evil plan?

Answer: Mime-inator

Doof's plan was to rid the world of annoying mimes by trapping them all in invisible boxes. Fortunately for Perry, the Mime-inator had a self-destruct switch. When Linda accidentally hit it with her piñata-bashing stick it exploded into nothingness, taking the boys' photo transporter with it.

The Video-Beam-Hijack-non-inator was from the clip show for Phineas's birthday.
The Destruct-inator was from the second episode where Doof tried to steal all the lawn gnomes to destroy them.
The De-Evolution-inator was from when the Flynn-Fletchers went to Hawaii.
