Her sister was going to have surgery, and she just wanted to be with her.

6. Both kids had a friend that lived in the neighborhood. What was that friend's name?

Answer: Diane

Diane was a friend that was mentioned. Not that the kids didn't have more friends, Diane was the only one mentioned. She would come over to their house and just talk to them.
7. Did the kids ever go down in the basement?

Answer: Yes

Yes, Margaret and Casey went down to the basement. They had to see what kind of an experiment Dad was working on. When they got down there, they found that it was really hot. I haven't talked much about the experiment. I didn't want to ruin it in case you are taking this quiz without reading the book first.
8. R.L. Stine would mention sometimes the kids playing a game. What was this game?

Answer: Frisbee

They were always playing Frisbee.
9. Where did the story take place?

Answer: California

Only once was this mentioned. California was said at the first of the book when Stine was describing the weather there.
10. Mr. Brewer's daughter saw him scoffing down something in the kitchen one afternoon for lunch. When Mr. Brewer left the kitchen, she didn't hesitate and went to see what her dad had been eating. What was it?

Answer: Plant food

Margaret went quickly to the trash can. She saw the bag of plant food in there. She couldn't believe her father ate plant food. Mr. Brewer ended up turning himself into a creature. I don't know or not, but I'm guessing eating the plant food might have something to do with it.
