1. What colours are the Malory Towers' uniforms?

Answer: Brown and orange

""It's jolly nice" said Darrell." What are you talking about girl?! It's hideous. "Brown coat, brown hat, orange ribbon and a brown tunic underneath with an orange belt." Ugh.

2. Which tower is Darrell in?

Answer: North

The mistress for this tower is Miss Potts or "Potty" as the girls hilariously call her. Other girls in this tower are Sally , Gwen, Irene and Alicia.

3. Whom did Darrell slap in her first term?

Answer: Gwen

She did it after Gwendolene had held Mary-Lou under the water in the pool. She also shook Sally violently, was mean to Mary-Lou and got bored by Violet. Such a lovely girl.

4. Who turned out to be the thief in the second form?

Answer: Daphne

At first everyone thought it was Ellen but it turned out she had just been trying to cheat. Daphne later told everyone that she had been expelled from other schools for stealing. She got scared that she would be found out at MT and parcelled all her swag up and Mary-Lou took it to the post office for her and nearly died in the process by almost falling over the cliff.

This was Darrell's idea and not a very well thought out one. As she herself thought "it was one thing to make a patch of pink appear on somebody's clothes - it could be easily explained away - but how could the word "OY" be explained?"

Answer: Thunder

In her first year Bill's horse got colic (stomach ache) and Miss Peters rode out to get the vet to save him.

7. What part did Zerelda once play in America at college?

Answer: Lady Macbeth, "Macbeth"

Zerelda's idol is filmstar Lossie Laxton (does anyone know if she really existed?). She wanted to play the part of Juliet in the form's production of "Romeo and Juliet" but the drama teacher told her she couldn't act at all, crushing her (well for a while).

8. Of what does Belinda try to make a collection of drawings in the third year?

Gwen was Belinda's main target. "Do you mind if I draw you like that? It's such a lovely scowl!"

9. In the fourth year Darrell's sister, Felicity, comes to Malory Towers. She makes friends with Alicia's cousin. What is her name?

Darrell is not happy about this, she doesn't like June at all. Darrell ends up roughing her up in a music room and consequently she loses her place as head of fourth form.

She thinks this is a excellent plan and doesn't do any revision. However in true Malory Towers fashion she gets found out. She is sent back to school unprepared for the exam and under doctors orders to do lots of exercise. The best laid plans....

Answer: me

It turned out to be June who sent the letters, there was a long list of suspects as just about everyone hated Moira. June was expelled but Moira went to see Miss Grayling, saving June and making herself more popular in the process.

12. Who temporarily resigned from the pantomime "Cinderella"?

Answer: Alicia

Alicia played the Demon King (who?). She resigned because she couldn't stand working with Moira any more.

13. What university did Darrell go to after Malory Towers?

Answer: St Andrews

This is in Scotland. Alicia also went there. Mary-Lou went on to train to be a nurse.

Answer: A magnet

Basically a second former stood behind Mamzelle with a magnet which pulled all the pins out of her head. Then the little hissing pellet started to hiss. The sixth formers followed the noise and found the little cushion of pins. I think that this is the cleverest trick in all the books.

Answer: 1951

Wow such a long time ago! Incidentally Enid Blyton enjoyed playing naked tennis. Yes that's right. Naked tennis. Puts her in a whole different light doesn't it?
