Mount Vernon is located in Virginia and is less than 15 miles southeast of Washington, DC. It is open for tours every day of the year. If you visit, you can see many interesting things including a replica of a sixteen-sided barn that was used to have horses thresh grain.

Peacefield is located in Quincy, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston. It is managed today by the National Park Service. The National Park Service also maintains the birthplace homes for these two presidents.
