Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "There lived a man so long ago his memories but __________."

Answer: faint

"There lived a man so long ago his memories but faint,
Was not admired, did not inspire, like president or saint."
This is the very first line of the song, sung by the three scallions and Phil, the stalk of celery from Toledo.
2. "But people came from far and near with their afflicted _________."

Answer: pets

"But people came from far and near with their afflicted pets,
For a special cure, they knew for sure, wouldn't come from other vets."
After this line, the doctor, played by Larry, begins his "treatment" for the penguin.
3. "This is a song for your poor sick penguin. He's got a fever and his ______are blue."

Answer: toes

"This is a song for your poor sick penguin,
He's got a fever and his toes are blue,
But if I sing to your poor sick penguin,
He will feel better in a day or two."
The penguin then sneezes the thermometer into the doctor's eye.
4. "Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps, for the _________ ways of the Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps."

Answer: curious

"No skeptic could explain just how nor could what oft rebut,
The wondrous deeds that went on in that little alpine hut.
Some would stand in silence, while some just scratched their scalps,
For the curious ways of the yodeling veterinarian of the Alps."
This line is sung twice throughout the song, once here, and once at the end of the song.
5. "This is a song for your pregnant kitty; she's looking nauseous and a _________ past due."

Answer: week

"This is a song for your pregnant kitty,
She's looking nauseous and a week past due.
But if I sing to your pregnant kitty,
She will feel better in a day or two."
After Larry finished the yodel to the cat, she sounded like she needed to cough up a hairball.
6. "Jump in your car, drive into the city, buy a jug of milk for your nauseated _________."

Answer: kitty

"Jump in your car, drive into the city,
Buy a jug of milk for your nauseated kitty."
Pa Grape, the nurse, says this to the cat's owner after the doctor finished yodeling to the cat.
7. "The practice grew, their profits flew, until one fateful day, when the nurse who did assist the doc asked for a raise in ________."

Answer: pay

"The practice grew, their profits flew, until one fateful day,
When the nurse who did assist the doc asked for a raise in pay.
The doctor pondered this awhile, sat back and scratched his scalp,
Then said "No way, Jose," to the nurse of the yodeling veterinarian of the Alps!"
This was Larry's downfall when he didn't give Pa a raise, because Pa didn't tell the owners of the pets what they needed, and Larry couldn't just heal the animals by yodeling to them.
8. "Good news on the kitty doc, ________ kittens, named one after you."

Answer: six

Pa Grape, who plays the nurse, told the doctor, played by Larry, that the pregnant kitty had just had six kittens, and that the owner had named one of them after the doctor.
9. "This is a song for your bear-trapped teddy, he looks uncomfy, think ________ be too!"

Answer: I'd

"This is a song for your bear-trapped teddy,
He looks uncomfy, think I'd be too!
But if I sing to your bear-trapped teddy,
He will feel better in a day or two."
After Larry finishes his yodel to the bear, Pa Grape says, "Oh yeah, that'll work, he's good." Then the bear roars and goes after Larry.
10. "Now the moral of our story is the point we hope we've made. When you go a little ________ better keep your nurse well paid."

Answer: loopy

"Now the moral of our story is the point we hope we've made.
When you go a little loopy better keep your nurse well paid.
Some would stand in silence while some just scratched their scalps,
For the curious ways of the yodeling veterinarian of the Alps!"
Thanks for playing, and God bless!
