3. Minneapolis-Saint Paul: St. Louis: Memphis: New Orleans All of the above are cities or major metropolitan areas along the Mississippi River.

Answer: True

All are listed in the order of population.
Although not the longest river in the USA - its tributary the Missouri holds that record - the Mississippi and all of its tributaries are the largest river drainage area in North America.
Thirty-one US states and two Canadian Provinces feed the drainage system.
Native Americans called it "Misi-ziibi" - "Great River." The French translated that as "Messipi", and the American translation followed.
4. Hokkaido: Honshu: Skikoku: Kotelny All of the above are islands in Japan.

Answer: False

Hokkaido, Honshu, and Skikoku are three of the five main islands in Japan. The other two are Kyushu and Okinawa.
The country's capital, Tokyo, is located on Honshu.
Kotelny is one of the New Siberian Islands in the Russian Arctic.
5. Clearwater: Tulum: Linikai: Pensacola All of the above are highly rated beaches in the USA.

6. Missouri: Kansas: Oklahoma: Texas All of the above are states along US Route 66.

Answer: True

Built in the 1920s, the route ran from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California, a distance a little short of 2,500 miles.
By the 1980s, many of the small towns it went through had been by-passed by faster roads. In 1984, Route 66 was decommissioned, although the old route has been designated 'Historic Route 66' and continues to be a tourist magnet.
7. Rotterdam, Netherlands; Hamburg, Germany: Antwerp, Belgium: Bregenz, Austria. All of the above were leading European container ports.

Answer: False

In terms of freight volume, the first three listed were by 2014 the three largest in Europe, and in that order.
Rotterdam, though, was only 11th in the world list, handling about a third of the volume of the leader, Shanghai, China.
Austria, of course, is landlocked so has no access to the sea. Bregenz is on shores of Lake Constance, which is the third-largest freshwater lake in Central Europe.

Mount Hotham boasts of being the "powder capital of Australia" and is in the state of Victoria. It is about 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne.

June to October are the best times to go skiing in Australia.
10. Thunder Bay: Port Colborne: Kingston: Huron All of the above are Canadian towns or cities located on the Great Lakes.
