Springfield Lasers lost three times in the finals, each time to the Washington Kastles in 2009, 2013 and 2014 before they faced and beat Philadelphia Freedoms in 2018. Los Angeles Strings reached the final five times, losing to Chicago Fyre in 1983 and Atlanta Thunder in 1991, but winning in 1978, 1981 and 1990. Idaho Sneakers have only reached the finals once, alas losing to New Jersey Stars in 1994 while Raleigh Edge have also been there once, and also lost when they met Los Angeles Strings in 1990.
