The Shoshone and Blackfeet were enemies, both lived around the Rockies and hunted buffalo. The Apache are from the southwest and the Sioux are from the 'great plains'.

He also designed his home 'Monticello' and many buildings at the University of Virginia.

Dorothy Revier also appeared in 'The Lady in Scarlet', 'The Cowboy and the Kid' and 'The Curtain Falls'.
4. Which ocean are the islands of Midway, Pitcairn, Solomon and Tuvalu located in?

Answer: Pacific

5. Which children's cartoon on Nickelodeon features Swiper the Fox and Boots and teaches kids a little bit of Spanish?

Answer: 'Dora the Explorer'

My 3 year old loves this show...ugh. Dora and Boots the monkey go on little adventures and are helped along the way by the map, the backpack and various little animals. Swiper the Fox tries to take things from them and you have to yell 'Swiper no Swiping!' 'Little Bill' was created by Bill Cosby, 'Oswald' is a talking octopus voiced by Fred Savage of 'Wonder Years' fame and 'Blue's Clues' (my personal favorite) is about Steve or Joe and his dog Blue and a game they play.
6. What city in Oregon was named after John Jacob Astor?

Answer: Astoria

Astoria is located in the northwestern most part of Oregon on the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. 'The Goonies', 'Kindergarten Cop' and 'Short Circuit' were set in and filmed in Astoria.
7. What is Portland's professional basketball team?

Answer: Trail Blazers

Bill Walton's number 32 and Clyde Drexler's number 22 are retired by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers won the NBA title in 1977 and came close in the early nineties.
8. Which heiress, known as 'America's first business woman', opened her home in Washington D.C. as an art museum named 'Hillwood Museum and Gardens'?

Answer: Marjorie Merriweather Post

I recently watched a program about her on tv. She was an only child so her father, who founded Post Cereal, taught her the family business. (She also had an awesome home in the Adirondacks.)
9. What river forms the eastern border of Nebraska?

Answer: Missouri

The Missouri river runs through the state of Missouri, borders Kansas and Nebraska, forms part of the border between Nebraska and South Dakota and ends up in Lake Oahe, smack dab in the center of South Dakota.
10. Here we are, do you know what the common bond is?

Answer: Lewis and Clark

MERRIWEATHER Lewis and William Clark were EXPLORERS who set off in 1804 to find a water route to the PACIFIC OCEAN, a passage to India and to EXPLORE the rest of our country. THOMAS JEFFERSON was the President and sent them on their mission WEST. They began their trip by navigating the MISSOURI RIVER.

The route they took is called the Lewis and Clark TRAIL. There are signs all along this trail now marking it. Sacajawea was a SHOSHONE indian and accompanied Lewis and Clark on their journey. Lewis and Clark were the first white men the Shoshone had ever seen.

They ended up in what is now ASTORIA, Oregon and spent the winter (109 days) there in Fort Clatsop. Hope you enjoyed my quiz and maybe learned something about these brave explorers.
