The clippie got her name from the action of clipping the tickets for the passengers during the 1940s and 50s, but with the advent of driver-only buses the conductress will soon be a thing of the past.

Answer: William Joyce

William Joyce was a propagandist for the Nazi regime during WWll, after the war he was tried, sentenced and executed.

In 1943 Ernest Bevin arranged that one in ten of the young men called up were sent to work in the coal mines. These men were called 'Bevin Boys'.
