Lord Byron was a great supporter of the Greeks in the Greek War of Independence, which started in 1821. 13. Which city has the largest number of movable mechanical bridges in the world?

Answer: Chicago

Chicago's bridges are often lifted to accomodate boats and barges to sail down the branches of the Chicago River. In order to accomodate a tall mast of a sailboat or some other pleasure craft, or a protuberance on top of a tour boat, the bridge must be lifted, so it seems as if the street is being lifted into the air (from both ends of the bridge).
